SOME FACTS ABOUT CONNECTORS• join two INDEPENDENT clauses, but with a semicolon

(beginning) position, medial (middle) position, and final (end) position.
• Good writers/speakers use the position of discourse markers to give particular emphasis to the element that comes immediately before the connector.
