The Transition Streets program includes a free handbook for each household that is used to guide our discussions and information sharing on topics like Food, Energy, Water, Transport and Waste and Consumption. Excitingly, Transition Streets are emerging in many suburbs of Geelong and elsewhere, helping us to face the challenges of this millennia. We can act now to contribute to regenerating and preserving the health of the planet for ourselves and our children. We are thinking globally and acting locally.

They are for linking up with our neighbours to make our homes and even our streets more energy efficient, less resources dependent (oil, coal, gas and other resources), more self reliant with food, less wasteful, healthier and more enjoyable places to live. We are turning our streets into neighbourhoods.
