Bizarre Breakfasts!posted by EMMA_UK at 11.06am

Some Russians like coffee for breakfast, but strong hot tea is more popular. We also eat different types of bread (black bread is traditional), blini (a sort of pancake), sausages, fried eggs, and gherkins. Cereal is very common, especially for children. People eat it with a soft cheese similar to ricotta cheese (‘tvorog,’). Come and taste it! Love from Mila

Hi Emma! Here in the States we often have a very unhealthy breakfast (but it’s delicious too!). We have donuts, fried eggs, hash browns (made of potatoes) with ketchup, cereal, orange juice, pancakes with syrup, or giant blueberry muffins. And of course we drink a lot of coffee too.15

In Japan, a traditional breakfast consists of hot rice, miso soup, grilled fish, tofu or eggs, dried seaweed (‘nori’), and tsukudani (small fish and shellfish boiled in soy sauce and sugar). It’s incredibly light and healthy, but these days lots of Japanese teenagers prefer western-style breakfasts or Japanese-style fast food like rice balls. For Japanese teenagers, fast = good! Bye!

I hope you come to Brazil, Emma. We’ve got very good breakfasts here. We have excellent black coffee, milk and white cheese. We drink a lot of fresh juices (especially orange, guava, mango and passion fruit). We also drink a juice made of acai berries – it’s very good for you! Another popular drink is coconut water. It’s rich in potassium and it’s delicious. Have a good trip!
