Welcome Five Star Service

Thank you for taking the time to look at our School Transport and Travel Guide for the 2020-2021 academic year, which sets out the wide range of travel options available to pupils at The Elms. This guide is designed to provide an overview of our school bus network, and to provide further details, including timetable and fare information.

We run an extensive school bus network covering Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. In response to parental requests, from September 2020, we will be offering an enhanced service, with a new express route from Coleorton serving the North Leicestershire area. In addition, we are also operating an ‘Infant Express’ service from Castle Marina Retail Park for pupils in Reception to Year 2.

Our school bus network connects with National Rail and NET Tram services at key locations, allowing for easy connections. Where we are aware of a connection, we will endeavour to ensure that it is guaranteed, so that pupils have a seamless journey to and from school.

All bookings for all routes can be made via the dedicated school transport website; trentcollege.vectare.co.uk. This website allows you to enter your postcode, find your closest stop and see bespoke travel information for your child’s journey to school. Bookings can be made 24/7 from anywhere in the world, meaning that if you need to leave early for work one morning or you are running late and you would like your child to travel on the school bus service as a one off, you can still make a booking. When making a booking, the charge will simply be added to the school bill.

All of our bus routes are operated with high quality vehicles. All drivers are DBS checked and regularly undertake CPC training to ensure the safety of the pupils traveling. The team of drivers drive the same routes on a regular basis, which allows both you and your children to get to know them.

In respect of the Covid-19 pandemic, The Elms continues to adhere to best practise as advised by the government. Each vehicle is thoroughly disinfected after every use, hand sanitiser is available both on entry and exit of the vehicle, and finally the wearing of a face covering is now mandatory for all passengers on the service. These measures are under constant review, and we reserve the right to either relax or tighten these rules as the situation requires.

I hope that you are able to find a travel solution that works for you and your child. If you need any further assistance, or you would like to discuss travel options from areas not currently served by our school bus network, please contact us via the school transport website and we will be pleased to assist.

Kind regards,

Sarah BarnesHead of Lettings & School Transport

Dear Parents / Guardians, All of our vehicles are modern, easy-to-board and are operated by our approved operators. This means that they are all regularly maintained to the highest standard and gives you peace of mind that your child is travelling in safety.

Our school bus network consists of approximately 100 stops and we also have direct links from Network Rail stations and NET Tram stops. We want to offer you a travel solution that works for you and your child, so if you need any assistance working out the best route to school then please do get in touch.

We offer a wide range of different tickets on our school bus service. From a single fare for a one off journey through to return passes for the entire academic year, there are options for everybody’s travel arrangements. You can book tickets at any time throughout the year, so it’s simple to book an extra journey or arrange travel for a visiting friend.

We use dedicated drivers who work on the same routes. These drivers get to know the pupils and are subject to a enhanced disclosure and barring service (DBS) check and full CPC training.

It takes less than 30 seconds to find your nearest stop online, and booking only takes a few minutes so all the information you need to arrange travel for your child is at your fingertips. To find your nearest stop or to book your child travel, please visit trentcollege.vectare.co.uk

From September 2020, The Elms is delighted to launch two additional school bus routes, in addition to our existing services from Ashby, Calverton Road, Duffield, Kinoulton, Littleover, Lowdham and Mansfield.

Infant Express

For pupils in reception to year 2 parents can now take advantage of the recently introduced Infant Express. The service will start at Castle Marina Retail Park before running direct to school. This allows parents to use the Retail Park as a drop off point, as the service will make no further stops on route.

With all pupils in car seats, and with a dedicated driver, parents can be assured of their child’s safety at all times.

North Leicestershire Express

For pupils up to year 6, the express service from North Leicestershire is now avalaible. This will be operated by a minibus and will stop in Coleorton and Thringstone, before proceeding directly to The Elms. The vehicle will travel down the A6 and A50, in order to avoid the busy M1 motorway.
