At the 2019 Saint Bernard Club of America National Specialty show held October 10th – 12th at Purina Farms, Apollo, GCHB RockandRoll’s For Your Entertainment HF, took Best in Veteran Sweepstakes under Sweepstakes judge Faye Martin. Everyone couldn’t believe Apollo was 8 years old, still moved so well and was so physically fit. He took to the show ring like he had never retired over 2 years ago.

Earlier in the week, Apollo won Best Veteran under distinguished breeder and Saint Bernard specialty judge Beverly Nosiglia at the Regional Pre-show. Submitted by Susan Carter.

Welcome Adalwolfa to the Macauda family... arriving at eight weeks old and 11 1/2 pounds. She loves being out in the garden. She adores our 10 1/2-year-old male shepherd who weighs 110 pounds

Veloce is continuing to do therapy visits and now has 50 visits. He has earned his second major at the Springfield Kennel Club show.

Drago is continuing to do therapy visits and has a total of 36 regular visits and 19 library. On December 4, 2019, Drago and Lauren attended a literacy event at Wilcoxson School distributed AKC coloring books as part of the Canine Ambassador program. On November 18, 2019, Lauren held a presentation for 28 students at Fairchild Wheeler Magnet School on the topic of therapy and service dogs. Lauren and Chris judged AKC Hunt Tests on November 17 and December 1st. Lauren and Chris also worked at the Rappahannock Chapter Hunt Tests on November 8, 9 and 10, 2019.

Lewis continues to do Meet and Greet visits every time he gets the opportunity. He enjoyed telling the nice “Biker Santa― at Danbury Harley Davidson what he wanted for Christmas last December 7th. Santa was unique: he had a Harley, a leather vest and tattoos! Lewis’ full name is Hamrya’s Keep the Change SC.

Jan Miller was the Field Trial Chairperson for three AKC lure coursing events this fall in Westerlo, NY: Hudson River Valley Hound Association (HRVHA) on October 12, 2019, Central Leatherstocking Area Sighthound Society (CLASS) on October 12, 2019, and another HRVHA event on October 13, 2019.

Anja and Jan assisted with AKC CGC testing at the ODTCW in Oxford, CT, on October 1, 2019. Anja also continues to make her therapy dog visits. Anja’s full name is Jaytea Chesara Just One Look CD BN RAE SC FCh THDA CGCA CGCU TKP AV. Here is a photo of us being the test team. We enjoy it! Jan

and most prestigious dog shows, The AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin, returns to Animal Planet as a three-hour special on Monday, Jan. 1, 2020 at 6 p.m. ET/PT. An encore of the special will air two hours following the conclusion of the premiere beginning at midnight, and re-airs will be available on AKC.TV. This year’s AKC National Championship is the largest dog show in North America and the LARGEST in AKC history with 5,284 conformation entries from 50 states and Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico and 27 countries combined with competitions in Agility, Obedience, Rally and Diving Dogs 5,724 entries, bringing the total event entries to 11,008. “Animal Planet is pleased to continue our annual tradition of exclusively premiering the AKC National Championship Dog Show Presented by Royal Canin on New Year's Day, which will allow our audiences the opportunity to ring in 2020 with the nation's most beloved dog breeds and top competitors,” said Erin Wanner, Senior Vice President of Production for Animal Planet. Hosted by AKC Executive Secretary Gina DiNardo and sportscaster Carolyn Manno, the AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin will feature dogs from around the world competing for various titles across multiple events and more than $150,000 in prize money, the largest in the world of dog shows. Noted sportscaster Mary Carillo joins the broadcasting team this year as a featured reporter with engaging interviews throughout the broadcast.
