Illegal marijuana grows can pose public health, safety and re risks. Illegal grows have been associated with multiple environmental crimes includ-ing: unlawful hazardous waste disposal, illegal grading and wells, improper storage and use of hazardous materials (fuels/pesticides/fertilizers), poach-ing, water pollution, depositing sewage on the ground or in the water, and illegal dumping.
Know Before You GrowNew Restrictions on Medical Marijuana Cultivation
Shasta County Ordinance SCC 2014-02 places new restrictions on cultivating medical marijua-na. A list of Frequently Asked Questions, the new Cultivation Restrictions Brochure, and a complaint form can be found at the web page listed below.
It is the responsibility of the quali ed patient or primary caregiver to know and under-stand the rules and restrictions for cultivation in Shasta County Ordinance SCC 2014-02. These
restrictions apply to parcels in the unincorporated
areas of Shasta County.
The Department of Resource Manage-
ment can assist you in determining if the parcel,
residence, and accessory build-ing proposed to be used for cul-tivation are legal and permitted, and can discuss all applicable building standards for cultiva-tion. For more information call 530-225-5761 or visit the website below.
