Trauma Management Therapy Program Newsletter
PTSD Treatment Center University of Central Florida
What’s New at the Clinic? The UCF Trauma Management Therapy
Program is continuing to recruit for participants in both our 17-week program and 3-week intensive program. All participants are treated with exposure therapy, currently the most scientifically supported treatment for
PTSD. Virtual Iraq/Afghanistan is a software program used to augment exposure therapy
by adding sights, sounds, and smells associated with the traumatic event. This clinical research program is funded by the
Dept. of Defense and is offered to participants at no cost. The treatment is available to all
personnel (active duty, veteran, reserve, guard, and civilian contractors) who have served in OIF
and/or OEF and are suffering from combat-
related PTSD. Participants in the 3-
week program will also be offered lodging at no
cost. For more information, please
contact Dr. Sandra Neer at 407-823-1668.

Jeremy Stout, an OIF Marine Infantry veteran, joined the TMT program in June 2012, just prior to entering the University of Central Florida’s Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program. Jeremy received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in May 2012 from the College of William and Mary, and was married one week later. Specializing in anxiety disorders, Jeremy is currently involved in research concerning combat veterans and sleep disorders. Jeremy hopes to use his military and combat experience to enhance the facilitation of treatment for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
