Joe E. Acker III, EMT-P, MPH Joe Acker has served as the Executive Director of Birmingham Regional Emergency Medical Services System (BREMSS) since 1990. He holds an MS/MPH from the University of Tennessee. Joe is a Senior National Educator in North America for the ATLS Instructor Course and a PHTLS Instructor.

David L. Acuna, DO, FACOS David Acuna received his DO from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Surgical Residency at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery in general surgery and surgical critical care. David practices at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Christopher M. Bell, MD In 2012, Chris Bell earned his MD from UT Health Science Center in Memphis and is the 2016 Surgical Criti-cal Care Fellow at UT College of Medicine Chattanooga (UTCOM-C). He will complete residency in June 2018.

Kevin T. Collopy, FP-C, CCEMT-P, NR-P, CMTE, BA Kevin Collopy is the Clinical Education Coordinator for AirLink/VitaLink and the Performance Improvement and Education Coordinator for Critical Care Transport at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC. An Adjunct Instructor of EMS Continuing Education at Cape Fear Community College, he has authored over 120 publications including 6 peer-reviewed research articles. Kevin is a nationally known presenter at conferences, webinars and via pod-casts. He also serves on the EMS World Editorial Advisory Board and is the IAFCCP Board vice president.

Benjamin W. Dart IV, MD, FACS Ben Dart is Board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care and has served as Erlanger Health System’s Chief of Surgery and Senior Medical Director of Operating Room Services. Ben received his MD from Louisiana State University in 1999. He is now a UTCOM-C Department of Surgery Associate Professor, Associate Program Director, and Medical Direc-tor of the Skills and Simulation Center.

Sara M. Edeiken, MD Sara Edeiken earned her MD at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine in 2010. She will complete her General Surgery residency at UTCOM-C in 2017 after which she will pursue a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery.

Dorea Fowler, BSN, RN, CRRN Dorea Fowler completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Florida in 1991 and obtained her Certification as a Rehabilitation Registered Nurse in 1994. She has been the Access Case Manager for Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA since 2003 and has served in other roles at Shepherd Center, including Staff Educator, Patient/Family Educator, Day Program RN, & Staff Nurse since 1991.

W. Douglas Gregorie IV, MD, FACEP Doug Gregorie received his MD from the University of South Carolina, School of Medicine in 2007 followed by an Emergency Medicine residency at Maine Medical Center, and a Wilderness Medicine Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. Doug is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at UTCOM-C.

Darren J. Hunt, MD, FACS Darren Hunt finished his MD at Mercer University School of Medicine-Macon, GA in 2007 and his General Surgery residency at UTCOM-C in 2012. In 2013, he completed his Trauma Fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA and his Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at UTCOM-C in 2014. Darren has been an UTCOM-C Assistant Professor of Surgery since 2013.

Scott M. John, MD Scott John earned his MD from Tulane University School of Medicine in 2011 before beginning Surgery residency at UTCOM-C. Dr. John will graduate from residency in 2017.

Robert Mabe, NRP, FP-C, EMSI Robert Mabe is a FP-C and Base Educator for Erlanger LIFE FORCE Air Medical’s Sparta (Tennessee) satellite base. Robert has been a credentialed EMS Instructor since 2000 and has earned Instructor status with the American Heart Association, National Association of EMTs, and Advanced Stroke Life Support.

Sudave D. Mendiratta, MD, FACEP Sudave Mendiratta is Assistant Professor at UTCOM-C Department of Emergency Medicine in ad-dition to serving as the Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency and the Physicians’ Assistant Student Course Director.

S. Lori Neal, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC Lori Neal is a Nurse Practitioner at Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, TN. She is dually certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, earning her degrees from Southern Adventist University in 2011. Lori is a reviewer of the FNP Curriculum Review Manual, and The Advanced Trauma Care Nursing Manual (student and instructor). She has been employed by Erlanger Health System since 1997.

Brittany M. Newberry, PhD, MSN, MPH, APRN, ENP, FNP Brittany Newberry is an APRN in Georgia. She holds a BSN, MSN, and MPH from Emory University and a PhD from Northcentral University. She is dually board certified as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner. Brittany is the Vice President of Education and Professional Development for the emergency health-care management company, HospitalMD, and is a Nurse Practitioner for the rural Emergency Department at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, GA.

Jessica K. Reynolds, MD Jessica Reynolds completed her MD at the Medical College of Georgia, School of Medicine in 2011. She will finish her General Surgery residency in June 2017.

Robert E. Rosenbaum, MD, FAANS, FACS Retired US Naval Neurosurgeon, Robert Rosenbaum obtained his MD from the Medical College of Virginia in 1993 and completed his Neurosurgical Residency through the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD 1998 and Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA in 2002. In 2011, Robert was Director for Neurosurgical Care Southern Afghanistan Theatre, Role 3 Multinational Medical Unit-Kandahar, Afghanistan and Director, Neurosurgical Care on the Mercy-class hospital ship, Comfort, during Katrina/Rita Relief Operations in 2005.

Ford Vox, MD, FAAPMR In 2006, Ford Vox completed his MD at the University of Alabama, Medical School, and in 2010, his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency through Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He finished his Neuro-rehabilita-tion Fellowship at the Boston University School of Medicine in 2011. Since 2012, Ford has been a Staff Physiatrist in the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA.

Evon Zoog, MD Evon Zoog completed his MD at the University of North Carolina, School of Medicine-Chapel Hill in 2014. Evon will complete his full General Surgery training in June 2020.

David W. Callaway, MD, MPA, FACEP, FAAEMDavid Callaway has been Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) in North Carolina since 2011 where he is Medical Director of Carolinas MED-1 and Director of the Division of Operational and Disaster Medicine. Prior to CMC, he served as a physician sup-porting the United States Marine Corps.

David serves on the Defense Health Board Subcommittee on Trauma and Injury and the Commit-tee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care. He is co-chairman of the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care.

In 2008, he was awarded a Zuckerman Fellowship from the Center for Public Leadership, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, to study leadership, national security and disaster response.

In 2012, The World Economic Forum selected David Callaway as a Young Global Leader (YGL) based upon his innovative work in disaster, humanitarian and crisis medical response.

Kamin, MD, FACEPRich Kamin is Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and EMS Program Director for the University of Connecticut Health Center and serves as Medical Director for the Connecticut Office of Emergency Medical Services. Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, he is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and actively educates medical students, emergency medicine residents, pre-hospital providers and other emergency physicians.
