Water to Thrive is a faith-based non-profit that focuses on bringing clean safe water to rural communities in Africa, primarily Ethiopia, Uganda, and Tanzania. We do this with water projects — hand-dug wells, spring protection systems, and borehole wells — located in the communities with need. On average, our projects cost about $10 per community member. Hundreds of thousands of people in rural Africa are enjoying clean, safe water for the first time in their lives because of caring people just like you. Witness the Blessing of Clean Water

One of Rotary’s top prior-ities as an international organization is providing clean water to those in need. We are excited to be partnering with North-west Austin Rotary Club as well as the Rotary club of Addis Ababa to build 12 wells in Ethiopia. This is such an incredible testament to the positive impact that can be made in this world when we work together to make a change. Come meetfellow Rotarians across the globe and see first-hand the difference you are making together.

Partake in anauthentic dinnerexperience, complete with traditional dishes like “injera” and “wot”, and LOTS of dancing. This is a fun way to immerse yourself in the Ethiopian culture.

Get to know some of the wonderful people in Africa who help make W2T a success. You’ll become fast friends with these sweet people, and see why we couldn’t do what we do without their support.

The Omo Valley contains tribes of many kinds,

including the Mursi Tribe seen here. They are a

unique people with dis-tinguished wardrobes and

accessories, including huge mouth piercings on

many of the women.

Meet people from this tribe who will show you through their village, filled with brightly-colored textiles and tra-ditional dances of their people. You might even get to taste “kancho”, their staple food made of enset leaves.

Water is such a simple concept, but is so

crucial to the lives of these rural African

people. You’ll visit many villages that now have

clean water, and be able to see the joy and life

that clean water brings.Rock-Hewn Churchesof Lalibela

Located in the northern region of Ethiopia, these

subterranean churches were carved out of rock

as pilgrimage sites for Coptic Christians in the 12th and 13th centuries.

They are beautifully crafted and still a place of

devotion for many.

Learn about the rich culture and history of Ethiopia at the National Museum, where you’ll see beautiful artifacts, paintings, and meet Lucy, the remains of one of the first human ancestors.
