• Tuk Tuk ( A three tier vehicle ) , mostly driven in Asian countries, is one of the cheapest way of commuting here. Though most of the foreigners would find difficult to adjust in them.

• The other mediums to commute here are busses, trains and taxis.

• It is good to take coaches in groups for easy sightseeing.

• Srilanka is a coastal country and has number of hotels for tourist of all budget.

• Guesthouses along with home stays are available as cheaper options.

• Budget hotels means only basic amenities fulfilled.

• Usually only the larger hotels or government rest houses will have A/C rooms available. With a fan in the room it is generally quite comfortable without A/C. The price for A/C rooms is generally about a third again higher than rooms without.

Food Tips

Sri lankans are fond of food and you can easily see that in their fooding habits.

• Being a coastal country, you would find good sea food here

• Noodles and Fried Rice could be found anywhere and almost everywhere.

• If possible and available, try out the famous Ginger Beer, a local beer
