FIRST MEETING

WHO ARE WE?

Our school is small rural school in little vilage Stefan Karadzha. It is located near 12 km from the municipality centre Glavinitsa and 50-60 km from the district center Silistra. The school "Otec Paisii" is a primary school. 71 students aged 7 to 15 and 24 children aged 4 to 6 train here. Formed 8 classes, 2 groups of full-time education and 1 of pre-school group. The staff is of 14 teachers including the director, including 4 men and 10 women .

Teachers in the early initial stage are 4 teachers in primary school ( grades 1-4) and 2 educators. In grades 5-8 we have 6 teachers. We have 1 teacher in kindergarten. At school there are 4 people non-teaching staff .

Our goal is that students can to develop their social skills and knowledges. We want to provide them with opportunities to develop, to can show their interests and abilities. We have tailored for care to the different needs of each child. We do preventive work against early dropout.

In our school students are of different ethnic groups - Bulgarians, Turks and Roma. Our motto is: " Learning to live together, regardless of religion or social origin and ethnicity ."

We set groups to work on mandatory elective subjects , elective subjects and workshops in Bulgarian language, civic education , mathematics, nature and ecology, ethnic folklor, fine arts and computer technology. In every year the school has organized joint events with community center " Prosvestenie" in the village of Stefan Karadza. We work in a partnership with the Center for Interethnic Dialogue and Tolerance " Amalipe". All teachers upgrade their qualifications continually.

Our school participates in project, USPEH and has created four groups in this project. These groups covered 60 students. All teachers involved in the project training of teaching for professionals . "

We work to enable our students to develop their independence and they are able to be more confident; to develop the ability to take responsibility for their own affairs and to become productive citizens in the future.

We have one goal: to motivate students to study and work to improve their knowledge and skills. We implement it not only in classes, but also in a variety of extracurricular activities. We use interactive teaching methods to overcome inform a overload and students to come with interest in their classroom. We want to provide not only the scientific knowledge, but to provide them social competence. We help our students to develop as individuals with stable values, to have an accurate idea of the genuine human virtues to be adaptable in changing social conditions, be motivated, tolerant and seek their own-self improvement.

Our other goal is to consolidate the relationship family-school permannt. We conduct parents seminars. They participate in our celebrations.

Our pupils are the focus of training. The role of the teacher is as mediator, who supporting the child. We are the assistants, who consults, stimulate and provoke students. The role of the student is to be an active partner of the teacher.

Our main goal is to achieve a high quality of education and ensure equal access to education for all children. To "open " educational system, to optimize the conditions and environment for learning. We want that our students to come in school with willingness and to be happy here.

We work together with Center for Interethnic Dialogue and Tolerance "Amalipe". In past year teacher from our school was trainer in training for teachers in Silistra region. We have a school program to prevent early school drop. In past year a teacher from our school participated in the final report of a national conference on preventing early school drop. She present our success in early drop prevention.

We participate in lot activities in etwinning.

School have good experience and skills to organize a free time of our pupils. At school we have 4 clubs who organized in national project " USPEH." This is the 4th year of operation of this project. In April our teacher will participate in national conference and will present own results in the club, who led.

We participated in the national campaign "Participate and change" which covered in two year period and finished in past year.

In last years our teachers was partners of the regional inspectorate of education in a series of training seminars for teachers.
