Preparing the ground, digging the pits, preparing the pots, mixing of manure, etc. Was done.
Students involved in plantation were given a plant each and assigned the care of those named plants.
Putting of boards & placards & distribution of literatures of herbal plants is done.
In all the participating schools, there are 30 to 50 students each (depending on the school) and teacher coordinators who are delegated the responsibility of protecting and caring for the Herbal Garden in their respective schools. This helped to build a sense of belongingness among all the participants and the plants.

Our garden comprising 25 varieties of herbal plants has been developed by us. The aim of the garden is to encourage the visually challenged children to form part of the herbal plantation drive by using the sense of TOUCH, TASTE AND SMELL. The garden was developed over the past few days to sensitize the blind children about the importance of the herbal plants in our lives,. They were also taught how to recognize various herbal plants by using their sense of smell, touch and taste.
