Design and target audience

My magazine publication will be promoting the rock genre of music. The front cover of my magazine will be very basic and simple which gives it a more modern look. I

believe this look will fit in with my target audience of teenagers and young adults. The design for my magazine was inspired by ‘Rocksound’ as the cover is very simple and intriguing. The cover of this rocksound issue also inspired my colour scheme as I think it really fits together nicely. The genre of music I have chosen to do is rock and my target audience is people from age 14 to the early 20’s. I know this genre is becoming more popular all of the times as younger people are discovering new, younger bands which introduce them to the rock scene. If I young band comes into the scene it is likely that young people will listen and start to

like some of the older bands.

Cover information

For my rock music magazine Rock It Up I am going to bring out an issue monthly. Due to the monthly delay the magazine will contain more stories meaning it will be thicker than other magazines, the month gives time to find and write articles about bands and events.

My magazine will cost £3.50 in general stores, supermarkets and some book shops.

Publishing house

Bauer Media Group would be my ideal publishing house as it has been very successful making monthly magazines and make about $2.4 billion in revenue every year. This would be my ideal publishing house as it has made a large variety of magazines from many different genres, the main genre they publish are music magazines and do not have many rock magazines published which gives my new, more modern magazine a chance of being published.
