Action Challenge have been leading inspirational team adventures across the globe for individuals, private groups, charities and corporate clients since 1999. Our trips enable people to experience the world’s most exhilarating locations, often in aid of charity. At the heart of every challenge is team spirit and fulfilment; together we take on once-in-a-lifetimeadventures, achieve formidable goals and forge friendships for life.

Our beautiful, remote six day challenge begins in the city of Cusco and leads to the mystifying ruins of Machu Picchu.Just one week away from home is all you need to experience one of the world’s most iconic treks.

Cusco with its impressive colonial architecture, pretty cobbled streets and lively atmosphere is the ideal spot for the startof this challenge. As we take time to acclimatise, we explore the city and the nearby ruins of Saksayhuaman, our firsttaste of Inca culture.

As a team, we start our journey on the Inca Trail at Ollantaytambo where we trek along the banks of the mightyUrubamba River into the Sacred Valley. Our trail soon begins to rise as we climb the Inca’s ancient stone steps leadinghigh up into the Andes. The path winds it’s way along the contours of the mountains, over passes and along high valleyfloors. Spectacular views accompany us along the trail as we look across the Vilcabamba mountain range and down toPacasmayo Valley from the notorious Dead Woman’s Pass at 4,270 m. We explore the impressive Inca ruins dottedalong our route as we climb steadily into the tropical cloud forest with its wild orchids and jungle atmosphere.

Our first sight of Machu Picchu is one we’ll never forget as the sun breaks over the ruins from the ‘Inti Punku’ or ‘Doorof the Sun’. We spend time exploring the incredible lost city, marvelling at the Inca’s incredible design and architecturalskills and the spectacular Andean setting.

We return to Cusco by train to enjoy a final day of exploring, before partying together to celebrate our journey to theworld-famous site of Machu Picchu.

payment optionsATOL is a scheme that protects you fromlosing money or being stranded abroad ifyour travel company collapses. ActionChallenge is 100% ATOL bonded, whichprovides you with full financial protection. On receipt of your registration fee, you willreceive an ATOL certificate explainingyour protection.

A REGISTRATION DEPOSIT of £399 is required to secure your place on thischallenge. This is payable online when you sign up via the Action Challenge website.Once registered, there are 3 PAYMENT OPTIONS available to you to cover the balanceof the trip cost:

1) SELF FUNDED

For anyone who wants pay for the entire trip themselves – just like paying for an allinclusive holiday. Its then entirely up to you whether you choose to raise any money fora charity of your choice via sponsorship, or not.

How does it work? The total all inclusive cost of this trip is £2,149 for 2016 or £2,209 for 2017, which, afteryou paying the £399 Registration Deposit, leaves a balance of £1,750 for 2016 or£1,810 for 2017. This final balance is due for payment 10 weeks before your departurealong with any fuel surcharges levied by the airline. There is a 3 instalment direct debitoption also to pay off the final balance.

2) SPONSORSHIP FUNDED

For anyone who wants to take on this challenge and link it with fundraising a significantsum of money for a charity of their choice. You would have to raise at least £3,500 for2016 or £3,600 for 2017 via sponsorship and donations from friends, family andcolleagues, and be confident that you can achieve that when selecting this option at theoutset.

How does it work?Pay the Registration Deposit online, and nominate a charity to fundraise for. Allfundraising goes directly to your charity. Providing that you raise at least £3,500 for2016 or £3,600 for 2017 via sponsorship, your charity will then pay for the balance ofyour trip costs directly to Action Challenge. That balance is £1,750 for 2016 or £1,800for 2017 (the same as if you were you were ‘Self Funded’) - and they will be happy withthis arrangement, as they still retain at least £1,750 for 2016 or £1,800 for 2017 to helpfund their good work. You will have to pay any airline fuel surcharges 10 weeks prior todeparture to Action Challenge.

3) MIXED FUNDED

What is this? For anyone who wants to take on the challenge and also fundraise a charity BUT ishappier to pay a reasonable proportion of the trip costs themselves, which is set at alevel that at least covers the costs of flights and accommodation. This is perfect forthose who perhaps feel more at ease asking for sponsorship and donations in respectto the pure ‘challenge’ component of their trip – rather than for the travel and hospitalityelements as well.

Providing that you raise at least £2,550 for 2016 or £2,600 for 2017 via sponsorship, your charity will then pay for the balance of your trip costs directly to Action Challenge. That balance is £1,020 for 2016 or £1,040 for 2017 (and they will be happy with thisarrangement, as they still retain at least £1,530 for 2016 or £1,560 for 2017 to help fundtheir good work. You will have to pay the remaining £730 for 2016 or £760 for 2017(after the Registration Deposit) and any airline fuel surcharges 10 weeks prior todeparture.
