The highlight of the AVF range is Trelleborg’s thirdgeneration road wheel and track compound designed towithstand the toughest operational environments at bothhigh and low temperatures. This advanced compoundoffers increased mechanical properties, reduced heatbuild-up and enhanced “chunk and chip” resistance. Itis designed to ensure total bond security on a variety ofsubstrates, including steel, aluminium and plastics,resulting in longer service life and reduced maintenanceschedules.

mobile and off-road equipment including artillery pieces,compressors, generators, AC units and communicationmodules. Products range from instrument and seatmountings to engine mounts.

As part of its on-going commitment research anddevelopment, Trelleborg Industrial AVS has recentlyintroduced Metalastik® SFR, a radical new flexible, fire-retardant coating for natural rubber components.This is believed to be the first protective coating to givea significant degree of fire protection to natural rubberwhile retaining all the material's natural elasticity. It hasthe ability to delay combustion, giving personnel moretime to escape in the event of a vehicle catching fire.

At the other end of the range, D, Super D andCushymount™ XK mounts are used under machineryrafts and the main propulsion engines of the largestfighting ships such as the UK's new QE Class aircraftcarriers. However, a typical application, such as theAstute Class submarine, contains over 20 differentmounting systems, many especially designed byTrelleborg Industrial AVS, to isolate against shockimpacts and suppress noise and vibration, which couldotherwise reveal the vessel’s position to an enemy andinter fere with on-board systems.
