ThefollowingstepswillhelpyougetupandrunningwithyournewZodiacTRiChlorinegenerator.

PosiTioninG The PoWeR PaCK

1. Locateasuitablespaceforthepowerpackbracket.Itshouldbeinstallednofurtherthan1.8metresawayfromthecell-ideallyinafiltrationshedorclosetothefiltrationequipment.

PLEASENOTE:iffixingtoapostitmusthaveawaterproofpanelfitted(behindtheunit),atleast450mmwideand470mmhigh.

2. Usingscrewsprovided,fastenthebracketsecurelytothewallandpositionthepowerpackonthebracket.Plugintopowerpoint,butdon’tturnonthepower.

PLEASENOTE:Thecellshouldalwaysbethelastdeviceplacedonthewaterpipe(Inthereturnlinetothepool).

3. Ensurethecellisplacedhorizontally,withtheInletpipeconnectingtothefittingclosesttothecelllead.

4. Usingscrewbarrelfittings(supplied),attachthecelltothepipe.Ifusing40mmpipe,youwillneedtofitthecellusingthereducingbushes(alsosupplied).

5. Whenconnectingtheleadfromthepowerpacktothecellmatchupthecorrespondingcoloursandpins,thenfittheendcap.

(Note:EitherREDwirecanbeconnectedtoeitherREDpinontheelectrode.)

6. PlugyourpoolpumpintotheoutletsocketinthebottomoftheTRi(thiswillallowtheTRitimertocontrolthefiltrationtimes)

7. OnceallconnectionsaretogetherpressthemainspowerswitchtoON.

ThechlorinegenerationoftheTRicanbecontrolledinanumberofways:

1. Manuallysettoanoutputlevel,withtheoperatingtimesdeterminedbyanexternaltimer.

2. Usingthein-builttimersontheTRiunit(referto‘TheTimers’)

3. Usingaconnectiontoanexternalcontroller(referto‘Connectingtoacontroller’).

Toturnthechlorinegenerationonmanually,presstheON/OFFbutton.Theoutputlevelcanbesetasdescribedin‘SettingtheChlorineOutput.’NOTE:Forsafetyreasons,theTRichlorinegeneratorwillcontinuallydosechlorineforamaximumof30hoursifleftrunningwithno‘OFF’time–unlessconnectedtoenexternalcontroller.Afterthistime

theTRiwillswitchto‘OFF’.

The TiMeRs

TheZodiacTRichlorinegeneratorcomeswithtwoinbuilttimersthatswitchthefiltrationandchlorinationsystemonandoffasrequired.

Duringswimmingseason,considerrunningthesystemforaround8hoursaday.Thiscanbeincreasedto10hoursduringperiodsofveryhotweather.

Inwinter,itmayonlybenecessarytorunyourpool’sfiltrationsystemfor4hoursaday.Theseshorterperiodsofactivitywilllengthenthelifeoftheunit’selectrode.

Forbestyearroundresults,settheunittooperateduringthecoolerhoursoftheearlymorning,eveningorwhenswimmersareusingthepool.

Toactivatethetimer,youwillneedtoenterbothanONandOFFtime.IfnoOFFtimeisentered,thechlorinegeneratorwillswitchoffatthedefaulttimeof12:00am(0:00).

Youwillknowthatavalidtimehasbeenenteredwhena“T”SymbolisdisplayedinthetoprighthandcorneroftheLCDdisplaywhentheunitisdisplayingthe‘operatingscreen’.

1. Removesilver‘dress’coverbypressinginatthesideswhereindicatedbelowandlift.

2. Removethetwoscrewswhichattachthelowercovertothemainunit:

InBOOSTor“Superchlorinate”mode,outputsettingsaretemporarilyoverriddenandthechlorinegeneratorrunsfor24hoursat100%ChlorineProduction.

In‘TIMER’mode,thecirculationpumpwillrunfor24hours,beforeautomaticallyrevertingtopreviousoutput/timersettings.

In‘MANUAL’mode,thechlorinegeneratorwillrunat100%foracumulativetotalof24hoursbeforerevertingtothepreviousoutputsetting.

NOTE:

The‘BOOST’modecannotbeengagedunderthefollowingcurcumstances:

1) IftheTRiisinthe‘OFF’operatingmode.Thechlorinatormustbe‘ON’forBOOSTtobeengaged.

TokeepyourTRiUnitinthebestpossibleconditionitisrecommendedregularmaintenanceshouldbeperformed.

insPeCTinG and CleaninG The eleCTRode

InareasthatexperiencecalciumhardnesstheTRielectrodewillbenefitfromcleaning.

Tocleanyourelectrode:

1. Switchoffthefilterpumpandchlorinegenerator,closenecessaryvalvesandunplugthecellterminalcap.

2. Unscrewtheretainingringandremovetheelectrode.Ifcalciumbuildupispresent,immersetheelectrodeincellcleaningsolutionwithoutimmersingtheterminals.

3. WerecommendusingZodiacSaltChlorinatorCellCleanertocleantheelectrode.Howeveryoucanmixyourownbycarefullyaddingone(1)partofHydrochloric(Muriatic)acidtoten(10)partswater.Strongersolutionswillshortenterminallife.

4. Allowthecleaningsolutiontodissolvethecalciumdepositsforabout10minutes.DisposeofthecleaningsolutionatanapprovedCouncilDepotandneverintostormwaterorsewagedrains.

6. Rinsetheelectrodeincleanwaterandre-fittheelectrodeinthecellhousing.

7. Replacethecellheadandplugassemblyandresetvalvesandswitches.TurnpumpandTRion.

8. Confirmchlorineoutputandsettingsonthepowerpack.Timersettingswillbeautomaticallyretained.

Diagnosis:Insufficientwaterflowinthecell.Thiscouldmeanthecirculationpumphasceasedtofunction,orthefilterneedscleaning.Thechlorineoutputwillbeturnedoffatthistime.

Diagnosis:Saltlevelisbetween3000and4000ppm,dependingonthewatertemperature.

Alwaysmaintainasaltlevelabove4000ppm.ifyoudon’tknowwhatyoursaltlevelisorhowtotestit,consultyourlocalpoolcareprofessional.

Diagnosis:Therecouldbeaproblemwiththepowersupply.Turnpoweroffatthepowerpointandconsultyourlocalpoolcareprofessional.

5 Replacementpartssuppliedunderthisexpresswarrantyarewarrantedtobefreefromdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipfortheremainderofthewarrantyperiodorfor12monthsfromthesupplyofthereplacement,whicheverislonger.

6 WarrantyclaimsrelatingtoreplacementoftheelectrodesforLMseries,Cseries,DuoClearandDserieschlorinatorsaresubjecttothefollowingpro-ratapricingprocedure.ThePurchasermustpayforthereplacementelectrodeaproportionofthecostequaltothatproportionofthewarrantyperiod duringwhich theoriginal electrode functioned effectively. Thewarrantyperiodforthereplacementelectrodeistheremainderofthewarrantyperiodfortheoriginalelectrodeor12monthsfromthesupplyofthereplacement,whicheverislonger.ThePurchasermustpayfullcostforanyreplacementelectrodesafterthefirstreplacement.
