Trinity Community Council walkabout 23/04/16 (with added notes following meeting in red)

Actions requested:

1. Allotments – Grafitti to be removed: on both sides of pump building and also on side of storage shed

Dumped door to be removed

Could the allotment group have a CEC bin installed as their own bin cannot be emptied? Could the Friends of Park group have keys for storage shed?

2. Bridge under Ferry Road: Steps up to Ferry Road. Handrail missing in parts / rusty / wooden part is not secure. Steps

also slippy with moss in places – Inverleith NEP project? (Linked here is Inverleith NEP project proposal for this)

3. Path from Ferry Rd bridge to Stedfastgate needs dropped kerbs on both side at entrances to Gosford Place and Connaught Place, and also setts levelled at Connaught Place

4. Clearing at Stedfastgate with BB plaque needs urgent repair to paving / benches repaired and repainted / a bin? Would BBs take some responsibility of cleaning area up?

5. Astro / tennis court in Victoria Park: A couple of patches need repaired as in pic (hole and also circle line dug up) Are there plans for concrete section in front of Astro? Could we have another bin nearer these facilities? Could tennis court doors be self-closing to stop dogs? Could sign on tennis court doors be bolder & more direct eg Max time 1 hour when busy

6. There are several deep holes in the park which dogs dig deeper (mainly between play area and Astro). Can they be filled?

7. Benches on path opposite Gosford Place need repainted

8. Path from Victoria Park to tunnel – offensive grafitti

9. The road works on Craighall Crescent are unsafe, considering how close to park, used by children and also the school. (Our Roads Manager is dealing with this)

10. Is there any possibility of a planter on South Trinity Road (like in Fort), which could be maintained by residents?

11. Would it be possible to have a climbing wall for play area?

Queries:

12. Statue –Edward statue letters missing / needs some tlc – who deals with this? Are there any sources of funding to help improve the statue and also the sports / horticultural society memorial near playpark? (Meet the Funders event coming up. Lots of funders in one place to talk to and gather information)

13. Is Victoria Park part of ‘living landscapes’ project, as relaxed cutting visible? Would it be possible to see plans for this so they can answer any queries from public)? (I’ve asked for an update from the Living Landscape team and will get this to you asap)

14. Are diseased trees all sorted now?15. What is the emptying schedule for bins in the park?
