DESCRIPTION ASE Test Sets (ASE2000, ASE61850 and ASEDLMS) can be installed on any Windows compatible computer. ASE Test Set becomes fully functional when operating in a computer with ASE license enabling hardware (BCOM-USB device or Sentinel USB dongle). Without such hardware, the software will not work. You may request a Trial License to evaluate the Software. This document explains the procedure to request and install Evaluation License on a computer to enable Trial functionality of ASE Test Sets. REQUEST FOR TRIAL LICENSE User may download and install required ASE Test Sets from following download page: https://www.ase-systems.com/downloads-2/ Once the installation is successfully completed, start the tool. If no license is found locally or in your network, User will see a pop-up window with “No License Found” message. Once the installation is successfully completed, start the tool. If no license is found locally or in your network, User will see a pop-up window with “No License Found” message. Click on the option “Request Trial License” to see a popup window with license request details. This option is same as Trial license request option in ASE Tool(s). After filling necessary details and selecting necessary products for evaluation, click on the option “Request Trial License” send the request online for the Trial License. If the License Server is not reachable, Email Client will open. If this happens please send the same to [email protected]. Note: Do not select ICD Manager if SCL Manager is selected. If your PC/Laptop is not connected to internet, the please use option Save To File” to save the request to local file. Then you may send the file to [email protected] as an email attachment. REQUEST FOR TRIAL LICENSE

User may download and install required ASE Test Sets from following download page:

Once the installation is successfully completed, start the tool. If no license is found locally or in your network, User will see a pop-up window with “No License Found” message.

Click on the option “Request Trial License” to see a popup window with license request details. This option is same as Trial license request option in ASE Tool(s).

INSTALL TRIAL LICENSE

As a response to the online license request or email, ASE will send you corresponding Trial License file named with a random Serial number and file extension “.dat”.

Eg: TRIALTM-123456789.dat.

Save license file to any folder on the same PC/Laptop and use “Install License” option to browse the file and apply the license to that PC.

License verification procedure relies on PC properties; hence try to not alter PC’s configuration settings – especially network adapter settings – after sending license request. Major changes to PC network adapter settings will cause the license verification to fail.

LICENSE FAILURE

If License installation fails or if license fails after using the Test Set, then send same details as in the case of License request with any additional information about license failure to [email protected].

Eg: License installation failed / License failed on <date> after using the tool for <n> days.

ASE will not entertain multiple re-issue of license on the same machine or transfer of License from one machine to another. License failures or license installation failures happen as the license issued is tightly coupled with PC properties. If you anticipate PC property changes, then ask for portable license hardware options like BCOM, USB Dongle and Network Dongle.
