We are meant to pull (paddle) about 40 miles, which is usually as tough as it gets.

However, due to rough weather our support boat must tie us to them and pull us ahead of the storm.

We end up pulling less than 30 miles, and a few of us are either sea sick or experiencing vertigofrom traveling on rough seas at high speeds.

and were given permission by the tribal leader.
After the host provides dinner, we sing and dance until late in the night!

People begin to gather on the beach to see the canoes coming in!

An older man offers his bathroom to our canoe family. He is in a wheel chair.
We return the favor by lifting him into the canoe and paddling to the middle of the Bay to watch the sunset.
He was extremely gratefulJust look at that view!

This is my last day on the journey. Although it lasts another week before arriving in Seattle, I have a prior engagement.

70+ canoes pull into Lake Washington after coming through the Ballard Locks in August 2006.
At the Muckleshoot Reservation there will be 5 days of singing and dancing!
