Treasures of the Triduum is designed to inspire a deeper understanding of the Sacred Triduum and to unveil the rich theology of the apex of the Church’s liturgical year from the perspective of the new translation of the Roman Missal. The workshop will address liturgical texts, rituals, and gestures, and will reflect on the insights of patristic authors and the tradition of the Church, as well as offer practical ideas for understanding and celebration. The workshop is designed for all who desire to enter more deeply into the heart of the Paschal Mystery, whether preachers, liturgy directors, musicians, or parishioners. The attached flyer includes speaker bios and registration information. Advance registration for $35 has been extended to this Wednesday, January 18; registration at the door is $40. We hope to see you there!

Fr. Douglas Martis, PhD, STD is a priest of the Diocese of Joliet, Illinois. He is director

of the Liturgical Institute and chair of the Worship Department at University of Saint

Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary of the Archdiocese of Chicago. He holds a

doctorate in sacramental theology from the Institut Catholique in Paris as well as a

doctorate in History of Religions and Religious Anthropology from the University of Paris.

A popular and sought-after speaker, he is the editor of The Mundelein Psalter and co-

author of Mystical Body, Mystical Voice: Encountering Christ in the Words of the Mass.

Mr. Christopher Carstens holds a B.A. from the Oratory of St. Philip in Toronto,

M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Dallas, and a M.A. (Liturgical Studies) from

The Liturgical Institute. He is currently the Director of the Office of Sacred Worship

for the Diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he also serves as Coordinator of

Pontifical Liturgies, liturgical coordinator for the Permanent Deacon formation

program, and diocesan Director of RCIA. He is an adjunct faculty member at the

Liturgical Institute and a frequent presenter in liturgical conferences and parish

education. He is a member of the Society for Catholic Liturgy and is married with five

children. He is co-author of Mystical Body, Mystical Voice: Encountering Christ in the Words of the Mass.
