(Hymn) #36 – “Lord of the Dance”

Greeting and Prayers for Forgiveness

(The following prayers are from the Orthodox Church)

Priest: Grace and peace to you from God, the Most Holy Trinity. All: Blessed be the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Priest: O Heavenly King, O Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, Who are in all places and fill all things, the Treasurery of good things and Giver of Life: Come and abide in us, cleanse us from every stain, and save our souls, O Good One.All: Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (3 times)

Priest: O most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. O Lord cleanse us from our sins. O Master, pardon our transgressions. O Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Your Name’s sake. All: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

All: O Lord, grant me to greet the coming day, and the coming week, in peace, help me in all things to rely upon Your holy will. In every hour of the day, and in every day of the week, reveal Your will to me. Bless my dealings with all who surround me. Teach me to treat all that comes to me throughout every day with peace of soul and a firm conviction that Your will governs all. In all my deeds and words, guide my thoughts and feelings. In unforeseen events, let me not forget that all are sent by You. Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing others. Give me strength to bear the fatigue of this day, and the coming week, with all that it shall bring. Direct my will, teach me to pray. And, Yourself, pray in me. Amen.

All: Gloria, gloria en excelsis Deo. Gloria, gloria, alleluia, alleluia.Music: Jacques Berthier words: Taize Community

Priest: Let us pray.Collect of the dayAll: Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion on our weakness, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.1 st Reading: Ephesians 2:11-22 Remember that at one time you Gentiles by birth, called "the uncircumcision" by those who are called "the circumcision" -- a physical circumcision made in the flesh by human hands-- remember that you were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace; in his flesh he has made both groups into one and has broken down the dividing wall, that is, the hostility between us. He has abolished the law with its commandments and ordinances, that he might create in himself one new humanity in place of the two, thus making peace, and might reconcile both groups to God in one body through the cross, thus putting to death that hostility through it. So he came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near; for through him both of us have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God.Psalm 231 The LORD is my shepherd; *

I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures *

and leads me beside still waters. 3 He revives my soul *

and guides me along right pathways for his Name's sake.

4 Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I shall fear no evil; *for you are with me;your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5 You spread a table before me in the presence of those who trouble me; *you have anointed my head with oil,and my cup is running over.

6 Surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, *and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Gospel: Mark 6:30-34, 53-56The apostles gathered around Jesus, and told him all that

they had done and taught. He said to them, "Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while." For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. And they went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves. Now many saw them going and recognized them, and they hurried there on foot from all the towns and arrived ahead of them. As he went ashore, he saw a great crowd; and he had compassion for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.

When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored the boat. When they got out of the boat, people at once recognized him, and rushed about that whole region and began to bring the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. And wherever he went, into villages or cities or farms, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch even the fringe of his cloak; and all who touched it were healed. SermonThe Nicene CreedI believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible; and in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only Begotten, begotten of the Father before all worlds, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten not made, of one essence with the Father, by Whom all things were made; Who for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and

sits at the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end. And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Hymn #52, vs. 2 Black BinderThe PeaceOffertory Hymn #37: “Lord, I lift your name” Black BinderOffering of GiftsPriest: Yours O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the splendor, and the majesty; for everything in heaven and on earth is Yours. All things come from You…Congregation: And of Your own do we give You.

The Great Thanksgiving (from the Church of South Africa)The Lord be with you. All: And also with you.

Lift up your hearts. All: We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.All: It is right to give him thanks and praise.

Father, it is our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ. He is the word through whom you made the universe, the Saviour you sent to redeem us. By the power of the Holy Spirit he took flesh and was born of the Virgin Mary. For our sake he opened his arms on the cross; he put an end to death and revealed the resurrection. In this he fulfilled your will and won for you a holy people. And so we join the angels and the saints in proclaiming your glory as we say:WLP #785: All: Holy, Holy, Holy,

Adam Brown, Jason Carter, James D’Ercole, Patrick Kelleher

My heart, my heart adores you!My heart is glad to say the words: You are holy Lord.

Lord, you are holy indeed, the fountain of all holiness. Let your Spirit come upon these gifts to make them holy, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Before he was give up to death, a death he freely accepted, he took bread and gave you thanks. He broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said: ‘Take this, all of you, and eat it: this is my body which will be given up for you.’When supper was ended, he took the cup. Again he gave you thanks and praise, gave the cup to his disciples, and said: ‘Take this, all of you, and drink from it: this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me.”So we proclaim the Mystery of Faith:All: When we eat this bread and drink this cup we proclaim your death, Lord Jesus until you come in glory. In memory of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Father, this life-giving bread, this saving cup. We thank you for counting us worthy to stand in your presence and serve you. May all of us who share in the body and blood of Christ be brought together in unity by the Holy Spirit.Lord, remember your Church throughout the world; make us grow in love, together with Alan and Gayle, our bishops, and all the clergy.Remember our brothers and sisters who have gone to their rest in the hope of rising again; bring them and all the departed into the light of your presence.Have mercy on us all; make us worthy to share eternal life with Mary, the virgin mother of God, with the apostles, and with all the saints who have done your will throughout the ages.May we praise you in union with them, and give you glory through your Son, Jesus Christ.Through him, with him, in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, almighty Father, for ever and ever. All: Amen

The Lord’s PrayerAll: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.

Fraction Anthem: “Surely the presence” Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.I can feel His mighty power and His grace. I can hear the brush of angel’s wings, I see glory on each

face;Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.

Communion Hymn” “Alleluia, Alleluia”Post Communion Prayer (from the Church of South Africa)All: Father Almighty, we offer ourselves to you as a living sacrifice in Jesus our Lord. Send us out into the world in the power of the Holy Spirit to live and work to your praise and glory. Amen. Blessing and Dismissal (Hymn)
