Holy Baptism – 10:30am only (5pm & 8am Services continue on page 3)
When candidates are unable to speak for themselves, the sponsors answer the questions on their behalf.
P In the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C Amen.
P Dearly beloved, Christ our Lord says in the last chapter of Matthew, “All authority in heaven and on earth has
been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” In the last chapter of Mark our Lord promises, “Whoever believes and is
baptized will be saved.” And the apostle Peter has written, “Baptism now saves you.”
The Word of God also teaches that we are all conceived and born sinful and are under the power of the devil
until Christ claims us as His own. We would be lost forever unless delivered from sin, death, and everlasting
condemnation. But the Father of all mercy and grace has sent His Son Jesus Christ, who atoned for the sin of the
whole world, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
The pastor addresses each candidate:
P How are you named?
R Harlow June Locke-Bishop
The pastor makes the sign of the holy cross upon the forehead and heart of each candidate while saying:
P Harlow, receive the sign of the holy cross both upon your T forehead and upon your T heart to mark you as one
redeemed by Christ the crucified.
P Let us pray.
Almighty and eternal God, according to Your strict judgment You condemned the unbelieving world through the
flood, yet according to Your great mercy You preserved believing Noah and his family, eight souls in all. You
drowned hard-hearted Pharaoh and all his host in the Red Sea, yet led Your people Israel through the water on
dry ground, foreshadowing this washing of Your Holy Baptism. Through the Baptism in the Jordan of Your
beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, You sanctified and instituted all waters to be a blessed flood and a lavish
washing away of sin.
We pray that You would behold Harlow according to Your boundless mercy and bless her with true faith by the
Holy Spirit, that through this saving flood all sin in her, which has been inherited from Adam and which she
herself has committed since, would be drowned and die. Grant that she be kept safe and secure in the holy ark of
the Christian Church, being separated from the multitude of unbelievers and serving Your name at all times with
a fervent spirit and a joyful hope, so that, with all believers in Your promise, she would be declared worthy of
eternal life; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
C Amen.

P From ancient times the Church has observed the custom of appointing sponsors for baptismal candidates and
catechumens. In the Evangelical Lutheran Church sponsors are to confess the faith expressed in the Apostles’
Creed and taught in the Small Catechism. They are, whenever possible, to witness the Baptism of those they
sponsor. They are to pray for them, support them in their ongoing instruction and nurture in the Christian faith,
and encourage them toward the faithful reception of the Lord’s Supper. They are at all times to be examples to
them of the holy life of faith in Christ and love for the neighbor.
P Is it your intention to serve Harlow as sponsors in the Christian faith?
R Yes, with the help of God.
P God enable you both to will and to do this faithful and loving work and with His grace fulfill what we are unable
to do.
C Amen.
P Hear the Holy Gospel according to St. Mark.
They brought young children to [Jesus] that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought
them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and
do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the
kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on
them, and blessed them.
P This is the Word of the Lord.
C Thanks be to God.
The pastor places his hands on the head of the candidate, and the congregation joins in praying:
Lord’s Prayer
C Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven;
give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
P The Lord preserve your coming in and your going out from this time forth and even T forevermore.
C Amen.
The pastor addresses the candidate(s) and asks the following questions:
P Harlow, do you renounce the devil?
R Yes, I renounce him.
P Do you renounce all his works?
R Yes, I renounce them.
P Do you renounce all his ways?
R Yes, I renounce them.
P Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth?
R Yes, I believe.
P Do you believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin
Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; the third day He
rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from
thence He will come to judge the living and the dead?
R Yes, I believe.
P Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting?
R Yes, I believe.
P Harlow, do you desire to be baptized?
R Yes, I do.
3
The pastor pours water three times on the head of each candidate while saying:
P Harlow, I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C Amen.
The pastor places his hands on the head of the newly baptized while saying:
P The almighty God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has given you the new birth of water and of the
Spirit and has forgiven you all your sins, strengthen you with His grace to life T everlasting.
C Amen.
The pastor may light a baptismal candle from the paschal candle and give it to the newly baptized while saying:
P Receive this burning light to show that you have received Christ who is the Light of the world. Live always in
the light of Christ, and be ever watchful for His coming, that you may meet Him with joy and enter with Him
into the marriage feast of the Lamb in His kingdom, which shall have no end.
The newly baptized may be welcomed with the following:
A In Holy Baptism God the Father has made you a member of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and an heir with us
of all the treasures of heaven in the one holy Christian and apostolic Church. We receive you in Jesus’ name as
our sister in Christ, that together we might hear His Word, receive His gifts, and proclaim the praises of Him
who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
C Amen. We welcome you in the name of the Lord.
P Let us pray.
Almighty and most merciful God and Father, we thank and praise You that You graciously preserve and enlarge
Your family and have granted Harlow the new birth in Holy Baptism and made her a member of Your Son, our
Lord Jesus Christ, and an heir of Your heavenly kingdom. We humbly implore You that, as she has now become
Your child, You would keep her in her baptismal grace, that according to Your good pleasure she may faithfully
grow to lead a godly life to the praise and honor of Your holy name and finally, with all Your saints, obtain the
promised inheritance in heaven; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
C Amen.
P Peace T be with you.
C Amen.
All return to their places.
Confession and Absolution – All Services Continue Here
The sign of the cross may be made by all in remembrance of their Baptism.
P In the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C Amen.
P If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
C But if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
Silence for reflection on God’s Word and for self-examination.
P Let us then confess our sins to God our Father.
C Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in
thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You
with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve Your present and
eternal punishment. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and
lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.
P Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all your sins. As a
called and ordained servant of Christ, and by His authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of
the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C Amen.

P The Lord be with you.
C And also with you.
P Let us pray.
Almighty and everlasting God, You have given us grace to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity by the

Old Testament Reading Genesis 1:1—2:4a
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was
over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated
the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and
there was morning, the first day.
And God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”
And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the
expanse. And it was so. And God called the expanse Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, the
second day.
And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.”
And it was so. God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw
that it was good.
And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their
seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed
according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw
that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.
And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be
for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light
upon the earth.” And it was so. And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser
light to rule the night—and the stars. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, to rule
over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there
was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.
And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the
expanse of the heavens.” So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the
waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the
earth.” And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.
And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things
and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth according to
their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind.
And God saw that it was good.
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the
sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that
creeps on the earth.”
So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have
dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the
earth.” And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and
every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the
heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green
6
plant for food.” And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there
was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God finished his
work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the
seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.
These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created.
P This is the Word of the Lord.
C Thanks be to God.
Second Reading Acts 2:14a, 22–36
Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them, . . .
“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders
and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— this Jesus, delivered up according to the
definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised him up,
loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. For David says concerning him,
“‘I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell in hope.
For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
or let your Holy One see corruption.
You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his
tomb is with us to this day. Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he
would set one of his descendants on his throne, he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was
not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses.
Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit,
he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he
himself says,
“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies your footstool.’
Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom
you crucified.”
P This is the Word of the Lord.
C Thanks be to God.
Alleluia and Verse LSB 156
C Alleluia. Lord, to whom shall we go?
You have the words of eternal life. Alleluia, alleluia.
Holy Gospel Matthew 28:16–20
P The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew, the twenty-eighth chapter.
C Glory to You, O Lord.
Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw
him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth
has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you
always, to the end of the age.”
P This is the Gospel of the Lord.

Sermon The Human Family
Nicene Creed – 5pm only
C I believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of His Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made,
being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made;
who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate.
He suffered and was buried.
And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures
and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father.
And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead,
whose kingdom will have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified,
who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church,
I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins,
and I look for the resurrection of the dead
and the life T of the world to come. Amen.

Confirmation – 8am only (5pm & 10:30am Services continue on page 9)
The pastor addresses the catechumens.
P Beloved in the Lord, our Lord Jesus Christ said to His apostles: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven
and on earth. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you
always, even to the end of the age.” You have been baptized and catechized in the Christian faith according to
our Lord’s bidding. Jesus said, “Whoever confesses Me before men, I will also confess before My Father who is
in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” Lift up your
hearts, therefore, to the God of all grace and joyfully give answer to what I now ask you in the name of the Lord.
P Do you this day in the presence of God and of this congregation acknowledge the gifts that God gave you in your
Baptism?
R Yes, I do.
P Do you renounce the devil?
R Yes, I renounce him.
P Do you renounce all his works?
R Yes, I renounce them.
P Do you renounce all his ways?
R Yes, I renounce them.
P Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty?
R Yes, I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
P Do you believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord?
R Yes, I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin
Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day
He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
P Do you believe in the Holy Spirit?
R Yes, I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
P Do you hold all the prophetic and apostolic Scriptures to be the inspired Word of God?
R I do.
P Do you confess the doctrine of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, drawn from the Scriptures, as you have learned
to know it from the Small Catechism, to be faithful and true?
R I do.
P Do you intend to hear the Word of God and receive the Lord’s Supper faithfully?
R I do, by the grace of God.
P Do you intend to live according to the Word of God, and in faith, word, and deed to remain true to God, Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit, even to death?
R I do, by the grace of God.
P Do you intend to continue steadfast in this confession and Church and to suffer all, even death, rather than fall
away from it?
R I do, by the grace of God.
P We rejoice with thankful hearts that you have been baptized and have received the teaching of the Lord. You
have confessed the faith and been absolved of your sins. As you continue to hear the Lord’s Word and receive
His blessed Sacrament, He who has begun a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus
Christ.
C Amen.
9
The catechumens kneel to receive the confirmation blessing. The pastor places his hands on the head of each catechumen and makes
the sign of the cross on the forehead while saying:
P [Name], the almighty God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has given you the new birth of water and of
the Spirit and has forgiven you all your sins, strengthen you with His grace to life T everlasting.
R Amen.
The pastor may read a text of Holy Scripture as a remembrance of confirmation. After all the catechumens have received the blessing,
one or both of the following collects are prayed.
P Let us pray.
Lord God, heavenly Father, we thank and praise You for Your great goodness in bringing these Your sons and
daughters to the knowledge of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, and enabling them both with the heart to
believe and with the mouth to confess His saving name. Grant that, bringing forth the fruits of faith, they may
continue steadfast and victorious to the day when all who have fought the good fight of faith shall receive the
crown of righteousness; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy
Spirit, one God, now and forever.
C Amen.
P Almighty and most merciful Father, in the waters of Holy Baptism You have united Your children in the
suffering and death of Your Son Jesus Christ, cleansing them by His blood. Renew in them the gift of Your Holy
Spirit, that they may live in daily contrition and repentance with a faith that ever clings to their Savior. Deliver
them from the power of Satan and preserve them from false and dangerous doctrines, that they may remain
faithful in hearing Christ’s Word and receiving His body and blood. By the Lord’s Supper strengthen them to
believe that no one can make satisfaction for sin but Christ alone. Enable them to find joy and comfort only in
Him, learning from this Sacrament to love You and their neighbor and to bear the cross with patience and joy
until the day of the resurrection of their bodies to life immortal; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who
lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
C Amen.
P Peace T be with you.
C Amen.
Prayer of the Church – All Services Continue Here
P O blessed and holy Trinity, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear the prayers of Your people and grant to us all
things according to Your Word and promise.
Brief silence
In the beginning, Father, Your Word spoke all things into being and from nothing You made all that is. Help us
to see the imprint of Your love in the goodness of creation and to exercise responsible care of all that You have
entrusted to us. Lord, in Your mercy,
C hear our prayer.
P Throughout the ages, Father, Your Spirit filled the sin-stained world with hope and called us to repentance and
faith. Help us to hear the voice of Your Word and to respond with faith, confessing You without fear before all
manner of people and in every corner of the earth. As You planned long before the world began, deliver us in
Christ, that we may be Your own and live according to Your commands all our days. Lord, in Your mercy,
C hear our prayer.
P In Baptism, You joined us to our Savior’s death and resurrection, Father. Bless Harlow as she has been brought
into your family. Also be with our Confirmands as they confirm their Baptism promises today. Guide us all, that
we may live out faithfully the new lives born of water and the Spirit, serving You with all our bodies, minds,
souls and strength. In the face of disease and death, make us bold to expect that we will be united with Him in a
resurrection like His. Lord, in Your mercy,
C hear our prayer.
P In government and law, Father, You work to establish and preserve order, protecting the weak and fostering
godly virtue. Bless our president; our governor; and all who make, administer and judge our laws. Deliver the
world from the threats of pandemic and tyranny, crush the powers of racism, hatred, and oppression in all its
forms, and preserve the nations in peace. Bless all who defend us in the armed forces and aid us in emergency
and medical fields. Hinder those who oppress any peoples with mistruth, violence or fear. Lord, in Your mercy,
10
C hear our prayer.
P In the hour of trial and in the moment of trouble, You are there, Father. Hear us as we cry to You for the sake of
the sick, the troubled in mind, the wounded in heart and those who grieve [especially _____________]. Deliver
them from affliction as You will, and sustain them in hope with a patient heart and strength for the day. Lord, in
Your mercy,
C hear our prayer.
P Father, in the blessed Supper of our Lord, Your Son has offered us His body as the bread of heaven and His
blood as the cup of salvation. Help us to receive this blessed Sacrament with faith and to show forth the fruits of
the Spirit in lives of faith, repentance and goodness. Lord, in Your mercy,
C hear our prayer.
P All these things and whatever else You know we need, we pray You to grant us, Father, for the sake of our
Savior Jesus Christ, through whom, with whom and in whom, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honor and glory
are Yours, almighty Father, both now and forevermore.
C Amen.
Service of the Sacrament
Preface LSB 160
P The Lord be with you.
C And also with you.
P Lift up your hearts.
C We lift them to the Lord.
P Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
C It is right to give Him thanks and praise.
The Words of Our Lord
P Our Lord Jesus Christ, on the night when He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke
it and gave it to the disciples and said: “Take, eat; this is My T body, which is given for you. This do in
remembrance of Me.”
In the same way also He took the cup after supper, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying:
“Drink of it, all of you; this cup is the new testament in My T blood, which is shed for you for the forgiveness of
sins. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
P As often as we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
C Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
P O Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, in giving us Your body and blood to eat and to drink, You lead us to
remember and confess Your holy cross and passion, Your blessed death, Your rest in the tomb, Your resurrection
from the dead, Your ascension into heaven, and Your coming for the final judgment. So remember us in Your
kingdom and teach us to pray:
Celebration of the Lord's Supper
If you are a member of an LCMS congregation we invite you to join us this today for Holy Communion. Lutherans believe that the
celebration of Lord’s Supper is the eating and drinking of the body and blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin and
strengthening of faith. We also believe Holy Communion is a sign of oneness of faith, life, and worship. We ask that if you have
not communed with us before, and would like to receive Communion please visit with one of the elders on duty or one of the
Pastors so that we may be of help to you concerning your participation in this Holy Supper. Anyone is welcome to come forward
to receive a blessing. Simply indicate your desire by crossing your arms over your chest.
11
Lord’s Prayer
C Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven;
give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Mark Your Calendar VBS is going Virtual This Year! We’ve made the
difficult decision to host a Virtual VBS this year instead
of our typical in-person VBS. Don’t worry, it will still be
awesome! Using a combination of live and pre-recorded
videos, a packet of lessons and crafts, and your own
imagination, we’ll help you have VBS at home. This
year’s theme is “Rainforest Explorer” and packet pickup
will be Sunday, July 19th. VBS will be held July 19, 22,
26, & 29. In order to have enough materials, we need
you to register now. Registration deadline is June 22.
Visit www.trinityalgona.org/vbs for more information
and to register.
In-Person Worship Has Resumed! You should have
already received a letter explaining our process for
welcoming you back! Due to social distancing, services
are limited to 50 people and will require pre-registration.
Registration for the upcoming week will be available
beginning at 9am Monday mornings and close 24 hours
before the start of the service. Online Services
Continue at 8am for those unable to be here in person.
Adult Bible Study will be live-streamed at 9:15am. A
video explaining our re-opening procedures can be
viewed on our You Tube and Facebook pages.
The Quilter’s Silent Auction is currently on hold.
We’ll resume the auction once we can be together again.
Proceeds will provide funding for Trinity youth to attend
Camp Okoboji. Details will be posted when available.
Camp Okoboji has cancelled summer programs, but are
still renting out the Family Ministry Cabins. See
campokoboji.org for more information.
New Look for IDW Youth Gatherings! The 2020 Jr
High and Sr High Youth Gathering Teams have decided
to cancel the Des Moines gatherings due to the
uncertainty surrounding COVID-19. However, they’re
working to put together a virtual event where youth can
gather at their own church. More details will follow.
Miscellaneous & Resources Cleaning Out Closets? The quilters continue their work
at home and are in need of yarn and flat sheets. They’re

Building Healthy Families – Did You Know?
“Comfort, comfort my people says your God…” Isaiah
40:1 The primitive root behind the Hebrew word for
“comfort” is to sigh or breathe deeply. It is the Hebrew
equivalent of “cool it” or “chill.” And it is repeated.
That’s the Hebrew equivalent of the Energizer bunny, it
just keeps going and going. God wants Isaiah to speak to
His people and tell them to take a deep breath,
everything is going to be alright. God tells him to “speak
tenderly.” Literally this is “speak to the heart.” God ‘s
word of comfort does more than sound nice. It does
things. It speaks to our hearts, fears, struggles, and
griefs. It says, “Take a deep breath. Everything is going
to be alright.” LutheranFamilyService.org
