Description: The Bankeibo (Flying Monkey) is a magically created creature, made in the

darkness of a wizards workshop long ago. They are generally seen as minions of witches and

wizards who cannot or for some reason choose not to associate with the regular demonic servants

such as imps or gremlins. They mainly function as messengers, or shock troops.

Flying Monkeys are summoned in a ritual involving many days of preparation after which the

wizard/witch (never successfully attempted by less than Greater though it is more common for

Advanced levels) summons 2d20 Flying Monkeys (5d20 for Advanced) who will serve him/her

until death.

They are similar to regular monkeys in that they are social and are rarely found in groups of less

than 5 (1d12+4). They can run and move on the ground as normal primates although their tree

swinging is seriously hindered by their wings. A Flying Monkey can carry aloft half of its body

weight (roughly 50-100lbs), but can work together and lift greater loads. They can also

understand and follow simple commands, but they cannot speak a human tongue.

Flying Monkeys do not enjoy being mistreated, but are under magical compulsion to follow the

orders of their master. If that master were to die the Bankeibo would be free to choose their own

future.

Flying Monkeys will flee all human contact if freed and as they are not able to breed successfully

(either with each other or other natural monkeys) they generally will live out the rest of their

“natural” life of 2-10 yrs (1d10+2) causing mischief and running rough shod over local simple

creatures becoming a boogieman or legend in local tales and are often mistaken for other demons

and killed on sight.
