Bring your ideas for consideration for this fall’s project(s). You don't need sewing skills - there have always been lots of other tasks! And it's not all work - we have fun too! Monday afternoon will be the first training session for the Palliative Support Group that will take place Wednesday mornings in the Mary Walsh room. And have you looked at the changes in the Mary Walsh Room? It is warm, welcoming and inviting. And we aren’t finished yet! Upcoming at Trinity: At the request of some members of the congregation, Donna is preparing a session on funeral planning. It is scheduled for Saturday, October 20, 10am - 1pm and will include a light lunch. If you are a visitor, please sign our Guest Book in the Narthex. If you are a newcomer, we invite you to fill out the bookmark (found in a hymn book or beside the Guest Book), and place it in the offering plate. We would like to get to know you! The system to assist hearing impaired persons may be accessed by turning hearing aids to the “T” setting. In the Welcome screens this morning there are pictures of Ian Gaudet, a grandson of Dawn and Roger Brown. Ian is a Sprint Kayaker and just home from competing in the Junior Olympic Hopes International Regatta in Poznan, Poland. He was competing against the top 15, 16, & 17 year olds from around the world. He brought home 3 medals....winning 2 SILVER in each of 1000M & 500M-K1 (1 man Kayak). And most exciting, a GOLD in 200M-K1 (15 year old division) making him the World Champion in his Division! Do you like to sing? As the summer winds into fall, please consider joining the choir. We rehearse on Wednesday 7:30 - 9:00 pm and sing every other Sunday morning. (You do not need to know what “part” you sing.) We are ALWAYS open to having new members. Come join us. September 30 is Orange Shirt Day Orange Shirt Day is an invitation for everyone to wear an orange shirt to remember and honour all the Indigenous children who went to Residential School and those children who died at school. Next Sunday, September 30, wear an orange shirt to worship! Observer magazine subscriptions are due for renewal or to order if you don’t presently subscribe. The cost is $25.00 for the year. Call or drop in to the church office or put your money in the collection plate clearly marked for The Observer. Sweet Sounds of the Big Band performed by HubTown at Sharon St. John United Church, Friday, September 28 th at 7:30pm. This will be a cabaret–style evening in the hall.
