HEARING IMPAIRED

Pocket-sized receivers with ear buds are available to be checked out

during the Worship Service from the sound booth at the rear of the

sanctuary.

ELDER INVITATION

Following morning worship, the elders will be available to members

and guests for prayer and ministry. Simply come to the front of the

sanctuary where we will be glad to: pray for your personal needs, lead

you in receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior, discuss church

membership.

4

ESPECIALLY FOR OUR GUESTS

We are glad to have you worship with us today. You

are worshiping with people who experience the

same difficulties of life as you. We have nothing to

boast about except the God we worship. Please relax

and focus upon the Lord Jesus who loves you and

desires for you to follow Him. While God has surely

led you here, you likely still have a number of im-

portant questions about us; how to get more involved and connected in

meaningful relationships, or about your own personal or spiritual needs.

If so, please allow us to help you by completing the guest registration

inside the back cover or by coming forward during the invitation time.

—Ronnie W. Rogers

ROUND TABLE DISCUSSIONS

IN THEOLOGY

WHAT: Round Table Discussions are in-depth and interactive studies of

different areas of Christian belief and life, led by Ronnie W. Rogers.

WHY: To grow deeper in our understanding of God’s person, will, ways,

and works in order to experience a more meaningful relationship with Him and

effectiveness in engaging our culture.

WHEN: Begins September 22, 2015 through December 7, 2015 and resumes

February 1, 2016 through May 2, 2016. The class will be Tuesday morning

from 6:30 -7:30 a.m. The first Monday of the month, the RT group will meet at

the pastor’s home from 6:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m.

WHERE: The RT will meet weekly for an hour in the Pastor ’s study and

once a month at the pastor’s home for a light meal and an extended discussion.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Men who desire such discipling and commit to the

following:

(It is all in the name.)

1. Round Table: This means that your commitment to attend, participate,

and grow spiritually is like that of the knights of the Round Table—you

can miss the RT, or preparing for it, only if you die, but then only one

time will be considered excused and assignments will need to be made

up.

2. Discussions: Everyone who is a part of the RT must be engaged in the

discussions. Silence by a member of the RT is deemed worthy of slay-

ing by the verbal stilettos of his fellow RT members and/or forfeiting

his place at the Round Table.

3. Purchase of a Book: Each member is required to purchase the appropri-

ate text.

4. Ministering: Must be presently involved in ministering to people and

committed to use what you learn in the Round Table to help others

come to know Christ and follow Him.

a. Each Round Table is limited to one class of six members each.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:

1. Sign up on the bulletin board in the south hall.

2. Those selected to participate will be notified after September 13th.

Saturday: Prov. 13-14, Ps. 68:19-36, John 9

“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but

Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by

faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for

me.” Galatian 2:20, NASB

issues from a biblical perspective. Check us out regularly on the web at

tions, please visit with Ryan Polk or Curtis Winkle.

Book Recommendation

Onward: Engaging the Culture Without Losing the Gospel

by Russell Moore

As the culture changes all around us, it is no longer possible to pretend

that we are a Moral Majority. That may be bad news for America, but it

can be good news for the church. What's needed now, in shifting times,

is neither a doubling-down on the status quo nor a pullback into isola-

tion. Instead, we need a church that speaks to social and political issues

with a bigger vision in mind: that of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As

Christianity seems increasingly strange, and even subversive, to our

culture, we have the opportunity to reclaim the freakishness of the

gospel, which is what gives it its power in the first place.

We seek the kingdom of God before everything else. We connect that

kingdom agenda to the culture around us, both by speaking it to the

world and by showing it in our churches. As we do so, we remember

our mission to oppose demons, not to demonize opponents. As we advo-

cate for human dignity, for religious liberty, for family stability, let's do

so as those with a prophetic word that turns everything upside down.

The signs of the times tell us we are in for days our parents and grand-

parents never knew. But that's no call for panic or surrender or outrage.

Jesus is alive. Let's act like it. Let's follow Him, onward to the future.
