#ir%tly, e&en thouh the concept o) a lare %hoppin mall i% a (e%tern in)luence an'

ma9ority o) the %hop% )oun' in%i'e it are )ranchi%e% o) 

 bran'% )rom abroa', many element% in the 'e%in o) the

 buil'in it%el) pay homae to 'etail% that coul' be

)oun' in our pre+colonial an' Spani%h+colonial

architecture. !any o) the%e can be clearly %een e&en

)rom the eterior o) the buil'in. At )ir%t lance, many

(oul' a%%ume that the mall ha% been aroun' )or a lon

time becau%e o) it% (a%he'+out 'ar- beie color, but it

i% actually only %e&en year% ol'. The choice o) the color 

 palette )or the mall ehibit% it% 'e%ire to contra%t it%el) 

)rom it% peer%, many o) (hich come in the

contemporary an' po%tmo'erni%t color% o) rey%cale% an' pa%tel%. Thi% color palette i%

con%i%tent throuhout the mall, eterior an' interior. The interior% are pre'ominantly

yello(i%h in color becau%e o) the material o) the )loorin a% (ell a% the lihtin, i&in the

)eel that the interior% are illuminate' by can'leliht, a% the hou%e% (ere bac- (hen electricity

(a%nt a&ailable in the country yet.

The mall 'e%in ha% al%o re%pon'e' to the tropical climate o) the country by

incorporatin lan'%capin in it% eterior% (here&er po%%ible, almo%t completely %urroun'in

the entire buil'in. The eterior o) the mall i% e&i'ently co&ere' (ith reenery, an' one o) it%

(in% e&en re%emble% the Banaue :ice Terrace% e%pecially %ince there are plant% protru'in

)rom the e'e%. A''itionally, the lan'%capin i% not limite' to the roun' )loor le&el, but i%

con%i%tent throuhout all the mall% )loor%. A% lon a% one coul' )in' hi% or her (ay out, one

TriNoma Shopping Mall façade. The mall

clearly emphasizes the use of open space and

landscaping.

)eature% into it% lan'%capin. The u%e o) hih+en' (ater )ountain%, %tream%, an' pool% are

abun'ant e%pecially in the entrance

TriNoma landscaping and water features. The mall attempts to make

its façade look natural by using earthy colors and incorporating

extensive landscaping.

TriNoma interior. The mall’s interiors primarily consist of

curved corridors radiating from the atrium. Escalators are also

oriented so that shoppers going from one level to another passes

by many shops.
