Staff Updates Director Melissa: This summer many of you may be taking a break from classes and spend your summer vacation at work. Why not work and gain experience in a professional field that interests you? The summer is a great time to complete an internship! Many de-grees require students to complete internships. Even if your degree doesn’t necessari-ly require you to complete an internship, you can still apply for one for the work expe-rience and a few extra dollars. There are many places that take on interns during the summer months and pay them either a stipend based on the internship duration, or pay hourly based on a schedule that you work. Many college students have found their in-ternship experience to be invaluable, and many internships have led to jobs after grad-uation. You can search for internships in your area and degree/interest on Intern-ship.com, Experience.com, LinkedIn.com, and Glassdoor.com. If you need any assistance please do not hesitate to contact us! Assistant Brandy: Even if you are not taking classes this 16/SP semester we still hope you’ll stop by to at least once say “Hi” and tell us what is going on. We will still provide social events that you can attend so make sure you keep checking your e-mail throughout the summer. Remember we track all the time you put into TRiO so we can write you an awesome recommendation letter when you graduate/transfer. Tutor Nicole: I know that all of you have been very busy this last week of classes. I hope that all of your hard work paid off and you ended the semester the way you wanted to. For those of you that are graduating I wish you luck in your future endeavors. For those of you that are leaving for the summer I hope that you enjoy your time off. For those of you that are taking summer classes make sure and take some time in the next few weeks to rest and relax. TRiO will be staffed all summer long so please feel free to stop in and say Hi. Have a great summer everybody! Advisor Anthony: Greetings TRiO Students! Hard work pays off and hopefully you are all on the cusp of celebrating a very successful Winter 16 semester. A couple reminders if you haven’t already done so:

File your 2016-17 FAFSA Register for Fall 16 classes

Know the TRiO Office will be open all Summer if you have any academic concerns or needs. Enjoy a well-deserved rest after the hard labor!
