PREZ RELEASE

PREZ RELEASEWelcome to snowy February.Seems like everyday I’m eithershoveling, roof raking, smashingice dams with a hammer, or allthree. Got a nice breakyesterday and had my thirdcolonoscopy done! All in all, thismonth has been a pain in the butt!As I write this, in two days,Sunday, we will have our TriumphWinter Party. Forecast, SNOW!Look forward to seeing youthere. March, when you readthis, hopefully will be a betterweather month. Regardless, itwill be a month closer to the startof Triumph driving season. Our February Club meeting waswell attended, considering it wassnowing and Valentine’s Day.What this tells me is that there isgreat comradery among our Clubmembers. They enjoy theopportunity to get together andtalk and swap information aboutTriumphs. As a point ofinformation, the Audio 2000 DualChannel Wireless MicrophonePortable PA System I purchasedfor the Club worked well. Onemicrophone for me and one topass around to members makingreports. One of the things we talked aboutat the February meeting was ourClub’s website. https://www.mntriumphs.org/index.shtmWhen is the last time youchecked it out? It’s time westarted to update it. One tab youcan click on is MEMBERS

CARS. Have you submitted apicture of yours? If not, you cansend a picture of it to FrederickOlson [email protected] .Another Tab is NEWSLETTERS.We are in the process of making theNewsletters shown more current.Another tab MAINTENACE is agood place to start if you havequestions about work that needs tobe done on your car. Chip Ledererhas volunteered to take charge ofupdating this link. If you have anysuggestions or recommendations, contact Chip at [email protected] .The tab REGALIA will be linkedto Suzanne McWilliams ofWildthreads Online. Glen Andersonis coordinating this effort. You willbe able to purchase a myriad ofitems that have our Club logo.Cool!Tech Sessions. If you would liketo have work done on your Triumphcontact Steve [email protected] read an interesting article in theMarch issue of CLASSICMOTORSPORTS entitled FuelFacts. They postulate that one ofthe attributes of high-octane fuels isthat they are more stable when itcomes to storage. 87 octane fuelstend to be less refined and containmore unstable hydrocarbons which, within months react to form gums, varnishes and lower octanehydrocarbons. They start todegrade in 3 months. 93 octanefuels are more refined and containmore stable hydrocarbons which

can last 2-3 times longer than87 octane fuel (around 9months) before degradation isnoticeable. Therefore, otherthan cost, there is no downsideto always filling up withpremium. Additionally, premiumfuel can help to clean the fuelsystem because it containscleaner components than 87octane fuels. Higher octane fuelsare also more resistant to engineknock than lower octaneoptions. Racing fuels are adifferent animal. Where streetfuel is blended to meet a pricepoint, race fuels feature evenbetter ingredients which lead toan even longer shelf life. Ifproperly stored, Sunoco’s racefuel can sit around for 2 years ormore without degrading.HAPPY MOTORINGJon/Jack MeierPresident, Minnesota Triumphs
