A stylish and atmospheric retro diner that embraces the great pioneers of

the video game industry, the classics that to this day are still veneratedand obsessively indulged.

Inspired by the arcade screen, bold and bright colors erupt from asubdued background and iconic imagery. Playful, dramatic, and highenergy, the space and the lighting design are both dominated bygeometric/solid shapes and bold graphics.

Space planningAs a theme bar/diner, the establishment evokes and channels retro arcade style

while providing comfort and sublime service. The diner is a fun place in which torelax, it is an evening haunt or a lunchtime diversion

Lighting design

The evocation of the arcade atmosphere with vivid colors is made all the more

powerful by contrast against a subdued background. The ambient lighting is subtleand locations of interest gain attention through dramatic color or attention grabbinglighting features

Arcade machinesThree arcade machines are placed atthe entrance. Each of these

reproductions can be played whilewaiting for a table, thereby granting anamusing diversion and precursor tasteof the establishment beforeseating. They are also a means todraw attention to the establishmentwhen their signature tunes reach theears of passersby

Nintendo tableA two-person table that is sculpted toresemble the classic Nintendo game padallowing a game-free table for couples orindividuals

Tabletop gamingFour recessed LCD screens at each tableallow the playing of Flash editions of theretro classics

Custom seatingSolid geometric shapes evoke the 8-bitdimensions and each has a vividly coloredvinyl padded top

Theme platesBlue tinted plates with phosphorescentconcentric circles inlaid in groovesunderneath that mimic the Tron

information disc and make them moreeasily noticed in the subdued lightingof the establishment

HardwareIntersel New York leverset interior door

handles in black leather and brushed nickelcompliment the decor with their weightyconstruction and joystick look

LightingColor changing LEDs are employed to create an activedecoration as well as lively task lighting. Much like thegame play that inspires the theme, color changing LEDsare situated around the stands for the tables within thecountertop and along the toekick for the bar. A semi-translucent shell spreads the light and creates a diffusedradiance. This draws attention to the bar and tableswithout causing glare or discomfort. Wall graphicsCharacter images are situated on the wallsin simplistic 8-bit configurations and all areilluminated by LED bars

Overhead lightingCeiling recessed downlights exist in a Pac-man pellet

pattern. These lamps provide a low-level general lightwhen dimmed but they can be raised in power to facilitatecleaning, in emergencies, or in the event of accidents
