A 5th generation Napa Valley farming family, the Owners, Dan & Marguerite Capp, carried on their heritage as one of Napa Valley’s first farming families.
In 1845, David Hudson and his future wife, Frances Griffith (Dan’s great-great grandparents) were pioneers on the first wagon train to cross the Sierra Nevada on their trek to the Napa Valley. Participating in the early Gold Rush, David discovered and mined enough gold in the Sierras to purchase prime farmland in the heart of the Napa Valley.
He built one of the first homes in what is now St. Helena and planted one of the first vineyards that supplied grapes to the first commercial winery in the Napa Valley.
A Pioneering Spirit
Dan Capp knows the vineyard land of Napa Valley AVA like few others can. He was instilled early on with how to
identify premium plots of land.
When a prime portion of Okell Hill with its awe-inspiring views, incredible tranquility and amazingly prized red clay loam soils became available to purchase 18 years
ago, he jumped on it.
Immersed in running his other farmland and winery, Dan never got around to
