Challenge A customer with whom Arbill recently re-signed a multimillion, three-year deal was in a Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) pickle, so to speak. The global healthcare products manufacturer began relying on Arbill to provide the vast majority of its PPE, however, procurement continued to obtain non-slip shoe covers from another supplier, since the covers were the most effective product for the healthcare company’s unique applications. Both the customer and Arbill had a vested interest in having Arbill source the covers in order to simplify the procurement process. The customer challenged Arbill to come up with an acceptable alternative that wouldn’t sacrifice employee safety and quality. Because Arbill has access to more than 18 overseas manufacturing facilities in eight countries, we were able to identify the best partner to develop and manufacture this unique product for our healthcare products company customer. Arbill’s TruLine advisor worked with the factory to prototype an innovative product that would surpass the legacy product in on-the-job performance. As a part of product development, the new TruLine shoe covers underwent an extensive and rigorous inspection process, as do all of Arbill’s TruLine products. This process is comprised of seven different types of testing including: Initial Production Check, During Production Inspection, Pre-Shipment Inspection, Container Load Check, Product Monitoring, Factory Audit, and Social Audit. Each inspection is provided by a third-party source to assure adherence to specifications and Arbill’s established quality standards.

Results The finished TruLine® product – created for and exclusively available to our healthcare products company customer – outperformed the previous covers in field tests, especially in wet and slippery conditions. In addition, Arbill’s TruLine solution enabled our customer to single source all of their safety equipment from one provider – simplifying and driving cost out of their overall procurement process. Finally, the new TruLine product saves our customer four percent compared to the previous shoe cover product. Next Steps Arbill’s ability to collaborate with our customer to design customized products that better met their needs, increased protection, consolidated all their PPE with Arbill, and – as an added bonus – proved to be more cost-effective, convinced them to have Arbill seek other TruLine alternatives to our customer’s existing brand-label PPE. Arbill’s unique status of both distributor and manufacturer continues to be a key differentiator for our company and our customers, especially in this competitive economic environment.
