Building relationships with trust

No matter what type of relationship you wish to build, be it a personal orbusiness relationship trust is really important. If you don’t have trust youwill always be suspicious and worried about your relationship. Think oftrust like a glue that can hold relationship together. However you candecide actions that will help you build trust easier.

Every relationship is different. Building trust in a personal relationship isdifferent from building a business relationship, however both have somecommon building blocks. One really important thing to remember is thatactions will always speak louder than words so remember to make sureyour actions are always in sync with what you say.

The majority of people are trustworthy

I know what it’s like to lose trust in someone, and it is not good, it isvery difficult to move on and work with the other person. However it isimportant to realize that most people can be trusted. Try to be moretrusting with people and you will build better relationships.

What if someone lets you down?

Sometimes we need to give people a second chance. After all everyone,including me has messed up at some point. However how do you knowif someone deserves a second chance?

So what are the factors?

Has the person tried to rebuild the trust between you?

What is the nature of the relationship?

But can you believe someone when they say they are sorry? Maybe,however ask yourself have they changed their ways? Will they do itagain?

I personally believe that you must go with your gut feeling. Sometimesyou will feel that the person is just not worth trusting again. Again it’s afeeling that you will know that you have and you will just know not totrust them. Even when someone says they are sorry can you believethem? Are they just going thru the motions? It’s up to you to decide.

What happens if you break someone’s trust?

If something happens and you break the trust of someone you shouldapologize as soon as you can. However you must mean it. Make it yourbusiness to rebuild that trust. Be sincere and make sure you doeverything that is needed to rebuild the trust.

Each person must decide what trust is. For some people doing X mightbe a breach of trust for others it might not be so serious. It is up to you todecide what your level of trust is and what constitutes a breach of trust.Trust is personal, remember that.
