Now What?

Doing Your Part

Genesis 7:16 - The story of NoahGod took care of the details of that job (all the

animals) while Noah was doing his part by building the ark. Often we do just the opposite of Noah. We worry about the details over which we have no control, while neglecting specific areas (such as attitudes, relationships, responsibilities) that are under our control. Like Noah, concentrate on what God has given you to do, and leave the rest to God.



How to Do Your Part (like Noah)

1. Gain Clarity• Your walk motivates you for ministry • Your spiritual gifts enable you for ministry• Your passions (interests) give focus to ministry• Your personality expresses itself in ministry• Your experiences (current one included!) help develop you for ministry

2. Take Action• Be open to alternative uses of your gifts, skills and experiences• Put your gifts to work• Be Patient

3. NEVER lose hope or faith• God WILL provide



Step 1: Gain ClarityPart 1: Your Walk (Relationship with Christ)• Read the Bible Daily

• Many ways to read the Bible• Bible Study Independently (Ladies, I LOVE Beth Moore!)• Small Groups• Call your church office for upcoming workshops

• Pray• Talk to God, he is always listening• Doesn’t need to be formal• Ask him for clarity and strength

• By trusting in Christ, our attitudes and appetites can change from wanting everything to accepting his provision and power to live for Him.

Career Clarity Exercise

What do your friends always seek your advice on? What would your parents brag that you are “gifted” at? What is comes naturally to you AND that you enjoy? Describe when are you at your best? What do you like to do in your free time outside of work? Do you

have any hobbies (like working on cars, baking, knitting, playing soft ball, etc.)? Have you had any hobbies in the past that you’ve enjoyed?

What hobbies have you considered that you haven’t done? What seems interesting to you that other people do that you haven’t tried yourself? (Karate, cooking, photography, competing in a triathlon?)

What is a topic that you could talk about for hours or really gets you energized?

What kind of work do you love so much, you would do it for free?

3. Be Patient• God’s timing, especially his delays, may make us

think he is not answering or is not answering the way we want. But he will meet all our needs according to his perfect schedule and purpose. Patiently await His timing.



Resist Temptation

1 Corinthians 10:13No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
