Truthful Ionizer Review on Kangen Water™ Ionizers vs. Competition

Welcome! Your Free Report.

This is a truthful and honest look at the top 5 water ionizer companies and their top of the line

products-

The Tyent mmp 7070 The KYK Genesis The Jupiter Athena The Life 7500 The Enagic SD-501 We expose them all and help you to determine which ionizer is best for you! I would like to start by saying that we have intentionally left out other water ionizers and other water ionizer companies because we are only concerned about the best ionizers out there. The reason behind this is the end result, which is your health. Your health is your #1 priority! By this point we should all know how important alkalizing the body is with good -ORP water and the amazing health benefits that go with it. Because it is easy to manipulate data such as -ORP values even by using an approved ORP meter, I have intentionally left out this information. Instead, and more importantly, I will be presenting useful and factual information based on plate size, quality of construction, transformers, the fine print in the warranty and other useful information. This is the type of information that no other ionizer review company dares to ask. The Moment of Truth: Virtually all ionizers will produce good alkaline water straight out of the box. The real test comes three to six months down the road. Again, the ultimate goal in choosing any ionizer is the end result that is your health. Therefore, purchasing an ionizer that is less than par is throwing your money away. It's not what they tell you. It's what they're not telling you that matters!

Hard Water - An Ionizers biggest enemy!

Without a doubt, the number 1 enemy of any water ionizer is hard

water. This alone can make an ionizer useless in a matter of only 2 or 3 months if not

properly cared for. View the map to the left. This map is made possible by the USEPA and shows the concentration of hard water in the United States. Hard water literally covers one half of the continental U.S. alone. Chances are if you live within the white and red areas then your ionizer will be fighting for its life- its useful life! If you live within the purple areas, then there is good chance your ionizer may hold up for a few years or more. Picture this in your own life. In hard water areas, minerals and scaling build up very easily on shower walls, tiles, etc. and is very difficult to remove. This is the exact same thing going on with your electrolysis plates and why a good scaling remover is vital for any ionizer. Scaling is even more of a problem on electrolysis plates because of the electrical positive and negative plates that attract mineral deposits on these plates. In speaking to specialist, I found that the calcium is enhanced to a degree in that it becomes very hard. If you have an ionizer or have drunk ionized water, you will have notice that over a period of only a month the plastic container that you use will start to cake on the deposits. In many cases, pouring some white vinegar in the plastic container will clean off those calcium deposits. In the case of electrolysis plates, however, it is even more of a problem because of the positive and negative forces that attract these particles making it very difficult to clean off especially in

Page 3: Truthful Ionizer Review on Kangen Water™ Ionizers vs. Competition

hard water States. If not taken care of, many electrolysis plates will and have become useless. On the home page, we talked about the most important element of any Water Ionizer being the Platinum/ Titanium plates. This is by far the most important feature because with out it your water ionizer would be worthless. The second most important feature would be the heating element such as the Transformer or SMPS ( Switched Mode Power Supply) and the third being the warranty. As you are reading this report, my job is to keep you focused on these three components because they are the most important and should be at the top of your requirements when deciding which ionizer to purchase. Look at the photos below. This is a picture of a water ionizer chamber and what can happen to the electrolysis chamber over a period of time. The electrolysis plates simply eroded away and have to do more with design flaw than actual hard water. These pictures are a sober reminder of why choosing the right machine is so critical for your health.

Electrolysis Plates - Solid vs. Mesh!

On of the hottest topics in the ionizer wars is the topic of Solid vs. Mesh.

Of the 5-ionizer companies, only one uses the solid plate - Enagic (Kangen Water) and one company has it as an upgrade - Life Ionizers. The other 3 ionizers use mesh exclusively- Jupiter, kyk and Tyent. The picture to the right is a typical picture of mesh plating.

Mesh Plates!

Mesh Plates increases the surface area of its plates thus improving its performance but only

by slight variations. As you can see from the picture, mesh plating is simply a process of stamping thin titanium/ Platinum plates or, to put it another way, punching holes through thin plates. With mesh plating I have found that the cons outweigh the pros for a number of reasons.

Page 5: Truthful Ionizer Review on Kangen Water™ Ionizers vs. Competition

First off, all water Ionizer companies are Assembly Manufacturers with the exception of Enagic. Enagic (Kangen water) is the only Ionizer Company that does not outsource any of their products. They are all made in-house. All Assembly Manufacturers, on the other hand, outsource their parts from different regions- typically Korea and Taiwan and then are assembled in Korea, Japan or other places. Most, if not all mesh plates, are made from the manufacture in Korea by the name of Emco Tech manufacturing. Mesh plates are purchased from this manufacturer not because of quality but because they are the low bidder. Emco Tech manufactures their mesh plates as follows: First, they take a large thin titanium sheet ( approximately 4' x 5') and spray both sides with platinum typically only spraying the platinum with one coat for one obvious reason - cost cutting! The reason behind this is that Platinum at around $1,000 to $2,000/ounce and is by far the most expensive part of any water ionizer and because Emco Tech manufacturing typically comes in as the low bidder, they need to keep costs down in order to be competitive. Once the platinum dries, the large sheet is then cut up into smaller sheets and then a large machine stamps the solid plate creating a mesh plate, which increases the surface area of the sheet but at the detriment of the consumer. This has to do with the fact that titanium is exposed. Titanium is exposed from the stamped mesh process as well as the process of cutting the larger sheet into smaller sheets exposing all four sides. This is a detriment to the consumer because the exposed titanium, when heated, releases particles of titanium that become “ pathogenic and disease causing” according to a study conducted by the University of British Columbia. Imagine this! Your number one reason for purchasing a water ionizer is so that you can get healthy by drinking the alkaline water and from day one, caustic titanium particles are entering your body. Keep this in mind! Platinum is beneficial, Titanium is caustic! The other flaw in the mesh plate manufacturing has to do with the expensive platinum being used sparingly. Again, platinum is absolutely essential in order to produce alkaline water. When it is used sparingly, the result is an inconsistent and thin layer on the plates. Over time, because of the effects of flowing water, this metal will slowly lose its effectiveness especially on mesh plating because of the peaks and valleys (holes). As the pictures of the decayed electrolysis plates demonstrate, when water is passed over the "peaks and valleys" of the thin plates, this process causes friction thus accelerating the process of entropy or decay. The Grand Canyon is a perfect example of the decaying process by water. Another serious flaw I see in mesh plating is the fact that the #1 enemy of all ionizers- hard water mineral deposits, get deposited and stuck between the peaks and valleys (holes) of the plates and renders the ionizer ineffective over time if not dealt with correctly.

Page 6: Truthful Ionizer Review on Kangen Water™ Ionizers vs. Competition

Again, the only reason companies' use mesh plating is the increase in surface area. It is a cost saving feature. Less metal means greater savings!

Solid plates!

First off, Solid plates are thicker and better constructed which means many years of trouble

free use and because they are solid and smooth, that reduces the tendency of calcium and other tough minerals to get wedged in or stick simply because the plates are smooth. Only two manufacturers incorporate Solid plates -Life and Enagic. However, there is a big difference between the two companies. Life ionizers is an Assembly Manufacturer and thus purchases their solid plates from the plate manufacturer who is the low bidder. This means that the platinum plates are sprayed and cut much like the mesh plates leaving exposed caustic titanium. Life Ionizers come standard with mesh plates and the solid plates are an upgrade feature. Enagic, on the other hand, is not an assembly manufacturer. Enagic takes a different approach. Enagic manufactures and assembles everything in house. Every conceivable part is manufactured in-house including the shipping materials. This in return increases the quality control significantly. The manufacture of their plates are much different. Enagic manufacturers their plates as follows: First, a large titanium plate is cut into smaller size plates approximately 5" x 7". These plates are then DIPPED into high grade platinum resulting in a much heavier and consistent layer of platinum over the titanium plates. Unlike the mesh plates, there is no exposed titanium. Due to the overwhelming fact that the titanium/Platinum plates are the most important feature of any water ionizer, the evidence points to Enagic's solid plates as being the most effective of the two.

Plates and Transformers - Does size matter?

Page 7: Truthful Ionizer Review on Kangen Water™ Ionizers vs. Competition

The simple and direct answer is yes for a number of reasons but it is in direct proportion to the

transformer or heating element. Allow me to explain. View the picture to the left. This is a picture of the electrolysis chamber, which houses the titanium/ platinum plates. The chamber to the far left belongs to the SD-501, the center picture is of the Jupiter Athena and the picture to the right includes the Life electrolysis chamber. I am sure everyone reading this has in some way heated water on a burner or stove. Perhaps you have heated a very large pot of water in order to make spaghetti as an example. Our ultimate goal in heating the spaghetti is the outcome of this process that is to eat spaghetti. Is it more advantageous to place this large pot of water on a small burner or larger burner? The obvious answer is the larger burner and more importantly a burner that is designed to handle the large pot. Of course, the same can be said of a small pot. This would require a smaller burner. There really is no difference when speaking of electrolysis plates and the heating element or transformer. The ultimate goal is to produce healthy alkaline water for the benefit of our health. Large plates with large surface areas require a large heating element. The result is a reliable system that will generate high amounts of alkaline, -ORP and micro-clustered water for years to come. The plate size and surface area was directly related to the amount of water that could be ionized. As a matter of fact, when I spoke with experts, I discovered that standard tap water is highly resistant to ions and thus a greater surface area of the plates meant a lower resistance to ions resulting in a greater resistance to oxidation. Furthermore, the quality of the plates and the materials used plays a big part in the overall performance. Smaller electrolysis plates along with their smaller burner will produce good levels of -ORP and alkalinity when first pulled out of the box but at what cost? The implication is the cost to your health because these units will not hold up over time because a number of factors but the most important being hard mineral deposits not to mention that the water ions are more resistant and thus less effective. The second most important aspect affecting the electrolysis process was wattage. The greater the power source, the greater the effectiveness of electrolysis in return producing a much greater product. Larger quality plates and transformers are the way to go for a quality machine that will last years in the future. There are simply no gray areas here. A larger surface area combined with a greater power source is the way to go.

Plates and Transformers - Talk is Cheap!

As you know, there is a lot of cheap talk out there. So the real question is, who has the hardware

to back all of that talk? First, let me give you a break down of plate and transformer sizes of the top of the line units by each manufacturer. Keep in mind that one trick in the industry is to claim 7 plates. It is not the amount of plates that are important but rather the total surface area of these plates combined. The larger the surface area, the better it is. Along with this, keep in mind the difference between standard Transformers and SMPS that stands for Switched Mode Power Supply. It seems like most every ionizer uses SMPS as compared to conventional Transformers. The conventional wisdom is that Transformers are less efficient and burn hotter whereas SMPS uses a pulse that means these heating elements are more efficient and better for ionizer machines. Though this technology seems to be more efficient, I have my doubts on the effectiveness of this technology based on reports that these units may overheat. For example, The KYK Genesis and Tyent have Over Temperature Protectors which simply means that the "temperature detector circuit installed inside the SMPS automatically stops the device". This is a technical way of saying that the SMPS overheats. At this point, I am unclear as to which transformer is best. However, it does appear that the standard transformer may be more reliable.

Here is the breakdown per Ionizer...

Page 9: Truthful Ionizer Review on Kangen Water™ Ionizers vs. Competition

The calculation for the surface area of the SD-501 is (5" x 7" x 2 sides x 7 plates).

As you can see there is a big variation between surface area and transformer size between the 5 top ionizers yet there are only 3 that make the grade. The Jupiter and the Life come in a pitiful last place. The SD-501 is the clear winner when it comes to the complete package. In second place, KYK. In third place, The Tyent 7070.

Warranty Information- What's in the small Print ?

Another important issues when it comes to ionizers are the Warranty. Sometimes you can get a

sense on how good a product is based upon what the warranty covers as well as what it does not cover.

So, What's in the small print?

Tyent 7070 - A 5-year limited parts and labor. This warranty is limited and thus is not a full warranty. Jupiter Athena - 5-year parts and labor based on some conditions. The first condition is to use a reverse osmosis system if in a hard water area. If you do not use a reverse osmosis system, then your warranty becomes void. Keep in mind that reverse osmosis systems run $400 to $500 and waste 4-8 gallons of water to produce one gallon of drinking water. Additionally, many reverse osmosis filters remove beneficial minerals from drinking water and need to substitute minerals back into the water. Assuming you follow the fine print there are some other problems I see with the warranty. The first 3 years covers full parts and labor, yet year 4 and 5 cover free parts up to $100 max with labor being in addition. This is a big red flag and my advice to you is to avoid this manufacturer all together.

Page 10: Truthful Ionizer Review on Kangen Water™ Ionizers vs. Competition

Life 7500 - Much like Jupiter, The warranty becomes void if used in hard water states unless a reverse osmosis system is used. Additionally, Life may void the warranty on other grounds. Their warranty states, " All machines that are used for high volume applications such as weight loss/ fitness, etc...will void their warranty" So how many gallons are considered high volume? Maybe 10? 5? We really don't know and when talking with the Reps., they shy away from addressing this question. My advice is to avoid this company all together. This is another huge red flag. KYK Genesis - a 5yr limited parts and labor. This is a limited warranty. Not a full warranty. Enagic SD-501- a full 5-year warranty based on the condition that you use the 100% organic citrus acid cleaner filter twice a year. The 100% organic citrus acid cleaner filter is a filter that Enagic requires to be used twice a year in order to remove the mineral deposits off its titanium/ platinum plates. Using this filter essentially restores the electrolysis plates to a new and pristine state that means that one can expect this machine to last 15 to 25 years. However, even these machines have their problems with very hard water. After spending some time on the phone with Enagic headquarters, I discovered that in very hard water areas even the SD-501's electrolysis chamber, in some cases, cannot handle the mineral deposits and as a result the electrolysis chambers need to be cleaned profesionally by the Company. The good news about this is that the Company only charges $40 for this service. You can imagine, if The SD-501 is having problems with very hard water, then the other ionizers with half to a third its plating size don't have a chance. The big difference is that the other companies will charge upwards of $700 to $800 to replace damaged electrolysis chambers. Watch out! Check with your local water authority before purchasing. This is why I feel that the 100% acid cleaner is necessary and beneficial. This cleaner works great in keeping the electrolysis plates like new, however, as you discovered it still cannot perform with 100% certainty in all conditions. To make my point, NO WATER IONIZER CAN PERFORM WELL UNDER THESE CONDITIONS! Extra precaution and care is needed in very hard water areas. This is the information most ionizer companies don't want you to know! After all, it is not prudent to think that 4.0 to 2.5 pH acid water will effectively clean off all the hard mineral deposits from the electrolysis plates. Keep this in mind the next time you are cleaning of the hard water from your shower walls. In order for it to work effectively, the acid pH needs to be around 1.0. Aside from spending an additional $36/year for the 100% organic acid cleaner, I believe that this is a very important feature for any ionizer and worth the extra expense.

Page 11: Truthful Ionizer Review on Kangen Water™ Ionizers vs. Competition

Based on the warranties, I find that Enagic is the strongest of the 5 with Tyent and KYK coming in second and third.

Jupiter and Life fail to meet expectations!

At this point it should be obvious based on what has been presented thus far that Jupiter and

Life ionizers simply do not hold up. As a matter of fact, they have failed miserably on all levels. Again, our objective is to discover the most reliable ionizers out there. Thus, I am not including them with the rest of the study. I base my judgment on the following criteria... The quality of the platinum/ titanium plates. The total surface area of the Platinum/Titanium plates should be substantial. The total wattage of the heating element should match the plate size. The Product Warranty should protect the consumer not the company.

Strong Acid Water!

Page 12: Truthful Ionizer Review on Kangen Water™ Ionizers vs. Competition

There is a lot of talk between the water ionizer companies of making strong acid and strong

alkaline water. But what are the benefits and which companies are making false statements? First off, In order to kill off 99.99% of all pathogens, viruses, germs and bacteria, strong acid water below 2.6 pH must be used. There is only one company that produces the strong acid water below 2.6pH and that is the Enagic Company. They are able to do this through their electrolysis enhancer tank that simply means that a saline solution is added to the water automatically when producing strong acid water. The end result is acid water that kills 99.99% of viruses, germs, bacteria, salmonella, ects.

Some people are purchasing water ionizer machines not only for the alkaline water but also for the Strong Acid Water. Notice the picture to the right. This is a picture of a person who was suffering from a skin condition that ordinary medicine was unable to cure. This person's skin condition was cured as a result of strong Acid water. Is a machine that produces strong acid water important to you?

Strong Alkaline Water!

Strong alkaline water is great for stripping the oilly pesticides and insecticides right off of fruits and vegetables. Notice the pictures of the tomatoes. The tomatoes to the right have the strong alkaline water and the ones to the left have tap water. You can see the pesticides in the water that were stripped off thanks to the strong alkaline water.

Page 13: Truthful Ionizer Review on Kangen Water™ Ionizers vs. Competition

No other water ionizers' can do this effectively and most are not able to do it at all. The Tyent mmp-7070 comes close to producing acid water at 3.0 pH and an alkaline water of 11.0 pH. Here is the breakdown: Tyent 7070- Acid water 6.0 to 3.0 pH and Strong Alkaline water up to 11.0 pH KYK Genesis- Acid water 6.0 to 4.0 pH and Strong Alkaline water up to 10.0 pH. Enagic SD-501- Acid water 5.5 pH to 2.5 pH and Strong Alkaline water up to 11.5pH It looks like Enagic is the only company that produces the highest level of acid and alkaline water. Tyent comes in a close 2nd. KYK Genesis, on the other hand should not make claims that their machines will produce strong acid water that kills of viruses nor should they make claims that their strong alkaline water will strip oily pesticides and insecticides off of fruits and vegetables. It simply is not true!

The Guidelines used for our decision!

After getting burned by purchasing an inferior ionizer, I decided to do some due diligence on the

best ionizer on the market. After spending approximately 6 months off and on with watching videos, reading articles, asking specialists, calling companies and speaking with Representatives, I finally had the information I needed to make a strong case. I even went so far as to speak with owners of other ionizer review sites and the bottom line was they were only interested in selling ionizers, any ionizer no matter if it was junk or not. Period! This infuriated me because people were counting on their opinions to purchase the best ionizers for their health. I also found out that these ionizer review sites made the most money when they trash talked the top Ionizers that being Enagic's SD-501. I can now say with 100% certainty that my results are true and correct. So, I decided to publish this information and make it public for the benefit of those who read it. So, allow me to go into the reasons I choose the Top 4. My decision was based on the following

Page 14: Truthful Ionizer Review on Kangen Water™ Ionizers vs. Competition

guidelines. 1. The size of the plates in surface area. 2. The consistency and amount of platinum on the plates. 3. Solid vs. Mesh Plating 4. The power supply energizing the plates. 5. The quality of the plates and machine in general 6. The Warranty 7. The Company 8. The Reputation of that Company. There are obviously other factors besides the ones presented, but these proved to be the best guidelines when choosing an ionizer that would be worth it. Some of the compelling reasons I choose Enagic besides what has already been covered is the Company itself. Enagic is a reliable and honorable Company that is truly out to build the best machines. There are many hospitals in Japan that use the SD-501 to help treat disease and other ailments with the alkaline water as well as with the strong acid water. Enagic's reputation rests with these hospitals and doctors and is recognized by a non-profit organization in Japan made up of over 6,500 doctors. Along with this, they have many certificates and awards for their outstanding products and performance. Enagic is a first class company! On top of this, The Japanese Government (The Minister of health, Labor and Welfare) recognizes the SD-501 as a medical device. This agency is much like our F.D.A. in the States. Another thing that impressed me about these machines were how well they were built and the materials they used were all manufactured on site in Osaka, Japan. Additionally, these machines can produce an unlimited amount of water and will not overheat. After witnessing the flaws of the competition, my final conclusion is that you can not go wrong with this Company or its products.
