Trimbakeshwar is known as one of the holy places in the whole India and is situated near Nashik. Trimbakeshwar is one of the twelve Jyotirlingaas of Lord Shiva. This temple lies in the foothill of the Brahmagiri mountain.Another most beautiful part in this temple is the three Lingas representing the lord Brahma, Vishnu and the lord Shiva.
The two significant places area) Shri Trimbakeshwar Jyotirling and b) Kushavarta - the place from where river Godavari comes from.It is believed that a dip in this sacred river removes the sins.

General Information• The temple is build using a black stone and the Shivalinga present here is said to be formed
naturally.The temple has a surrounding wall of around 25 feet high.Also there consists a Nandi Idol made on a platform of two feet high made of white marble which faces the lord Shiva.There is no sacred place other than Trimbakeshwar, no river like Godavari, and also no mountain like Bramhagiri. The reasons for its being so sacred are of the following reasons.
Godavari river originates in this place.It is a place of Tri-Sandhya Gayatri.The birth place of Lord Ganesha.A place of the first Nath of Nath Sampradaya consisting of Gorakhnath.A place where Nivrittinath was made to imbibe the holy knowledge by his Guru Gahininath,A place where Nivrittinath made his brothers and sister attain the self by his preaching. This is the holiest place to perform Shradha ceremony like Narayan nagbali As per Nirnaya Sindhu-a religious book of Hindus.
