At Noon, the Chief Officer Mr Cowap reported have found two stowaways down the Fore Peak, and on being called aft, before the Master, were asked what business and when they came on board the Ship, they said they came on board during the previous night, said that they had left the Russian Barque Asia at Delagoa Bay and wanted to go to Australia gave their names Axel Mattita aged 19 and Karl Karlason aged 21 both of Finland.

At 8 a.m. Emil Hagman (Sailor) asked permission to go ashore, said that he was to attend at the Law Court at 10 a.m. and permission was granted, at 10.40 a.m. the said Emil Hagman reported to the Master that he was discharge free from the Court and was ordered by the Master to return at once on board the Ship, but had not return to the Ship till 4 p.m. worst for drink.

At 6. 45 a.m. Emil Hagman and Humphrey Roberts both (Sailors) being absent from the ship without leave and at 8 a.m. returned on board the Ship, 8.45 a.m. both Hagman and Roberts went ashore without leave and on being ordered by the Master to return on board the Ship said they were going ashore.
