1. Introduction

a) Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide the help guide for end-user. The intended audience for this document is TSFD field staff, officers and the management.

b) Details of the Application

A multilevel user friendly mobile application for various levels offices (Beat, Section, Range,

Division, Circle, and Head Office level) for capturing of the data in real-time using

smartphones equipped with GPS and for quick accessing & analysis of data and also for

generating various reports & graphs essential for day-to-day administration, planning,

management and monitoring of the forests.

The login credentials of the application are same as the TGFMIS login credentials.

c) Product Features

This application will allow users to collect information pertaining to various incidents and

records. Any Android phone version 4 or higher will be able to install the applications and run

the application from their phone.

The mobile phone has existing hardware/software constraints. The internal

memory of the mobile phone needs to be sufficiently large to hold the offline collected data

as the photographs collected during the survey and incident reporting amounts to

accumulation of the data.

2. Prerequisite

1. For the first time login user should have internet connection. 2. The GPS Location should be “ON” before starting the application.

a) How to switch ON Location in mobile

1. Click on Home icon in mobile, then click on Settings icon 2. Click on Privacy and safety in settings 3. In privacy and safety select the location as ‘ON’



Depending upon the make of the mobile, these options changes.

***Please Note***

1. The application does not support special symbols like $,%,& and #. Please refrain from using the same.

2. Data submission to the server is not possible when user is not connected to internet.

3. Do not use RAM cleaning software (apps) like Clean Master, 360 security etc before

submitting the data to server, otherwise it may delete images taken using the TFD

application.

4. Monitoring of the plantation in Asset Module can only be done after adding the plantation on the same device by a particular image.

5. Add Stock of the Nursery can only be done after adding the Nursery by the same device. 6. In Nursery within add stock, stock field should be numeric. 7. User has to set Current Date & Time in the mobile device.



3. Starting Application To start the Telangana Forest Department (Vana Vahini) mobile application follows the steps given below:

1. Click on Vana Vahini icon on mobile menu.



2. On clicking the Vana Vahini icon, the application starts and display Login page.



4. Logging into the Application To Log in to the Vana Vahini application and use the features provided in it, follow the steps given below:

1. Start the Vana Vahini application. On starting the application the Login page is displayed. 2. Before login into the application switch ON the location in mobile.

3. Enter valid username and Password and click the Login button.

4. On clicking the Login button, the application validates the information. 5. If the information is valid the login is successful and Dashboard is displayed.



6. The dashboard contains the following icons. Each of this icon is a link to the respective section:

a. POR

b. Tracking

c. Asset

d. Wildlife

If the user wants to know and record the geographical locations i.e., latitude and

longitude only, then the tracking module can be used. In all modules, latitude

and longitude are displayed.



a) Geographic Details

The above modules contain the geographic details as the common field

It Populates Geographic details like Circle, Division, Range, Section, Beat from the users credentials.

Depending on circle selection it display the divisions list, then select division from the list

It displays the range list within that division, then select range from the list.

Again select the section from the list

Depending on section selection it display the beat list, select one among them.



5. POR

The purpose of POR (Preliminary Offence Report) module is to record information related to

forest offence like transit of forest produce, wildlife offence, encroachment etc.

There are 2 types of offences:

1) UDOR (Undetected Offence Report) 2) OR (Offence Report)

It does not support special symbols.

After entering all the above details click the Save button If

you want see the saved record click on Saved Forms Tab

3. Click on submit button without selecting records 4. It display the alert message as ‘No Records Selected’



5. When we click the view button it displays the POR form details.

6. In saved forms we can select all forms at a time by clicking button.

7. After selecting the forms click on submit button. 8. Submit the data without internet connection 9. It display the message as ‘No Internet Connection’



6. Tracking

1. Tracking is normally carried by a moving vehicle or person (walk) that uses the global positioning system to determine & track his precise location

2. This module is used for tracking geographic details of encroachment, fire, forest work, offence made by smugglers.

3. Based on the selection of observation field the tracking is done.

4. This page contains the following fields for entering the tracking details: Track-id is the Auto generated unique ID which can include Date and time. ON

tracking then select the mode as vehicle/walk

Set the interval for recording (Range: 1min to 5 min for walking and 1sec to 30sec for vehicle)

Then click on start button to start tracking Depending on interval it display the waypoint values

After completion of track click on stop button to stop tracking

5. After entering all the above details click the Save button

6. If you want see the saved record click on Saved Forms Tab or click on button 7. When we click the form it displays the Tracking page.



7. Asset Facilitates user to maintain information of following assets of the government.

Plantation

Building

Check-Post

Nursery

SMC Structure Type

a) Plantation

1. Select the Name of Asset as Plantation 2. It contains the following fields to enter the plantation details

Monitoring



3. Add Plantation: For entering new plantation details we need to select Add Plantation

4. It contains the following fields to enter the new plantation details.

5. After filling all the mandatory fields click on save button. On clicking the Save button Saved

6. Monitoring: This is used to monitoring the previous plantation details

8. Wildlife 1. Facilitates user to maintain data related to protection of wildlife, birds and plants.

3. After entering all the above details click on Back button

4. When we go back without saving record data lost, so it display the confirmation alert as ‘Data may be lost’.



5. Click on Cancel, then save the record
