Lompoc CommunityLompoc is a family oriented community with public and private

schools and excellent recrea onal programs. Lompoc’s residents have chosen to locate in the community for a variety of reasons,

Barbara County, 155 miles north of Los Angeles, 55 miles north of Santa Barbara, and 270 miles south of San Francisco. Scenic

City GovernmentThe City of Lompoc is a General Law city with a Council/manager form of government. The fi ve-member City Council consists of the Mayor and four members elected from the City at large. The City Council appoints a City Manager to

be the Chief Execu ve Offi cer of the City government. They also appoint the City A orney, commissions, boards and commi ees, adopt the budget, enact legisla on and generally establish the basic policy for the City. The City has a

staff of approximately 375 full- me employees. The principal departments within the City’s organiza on include: City Administra on; Management Services; Economic Development; Public Works; Public U li es; Library; Police; and Fire

Departments. As a full-service municipality, the City operates a wastewater treatment plant, water treatment plant, landfi ll, refuse and recycling collec on, public transit services, airport, electric u lity, broadband network, and the

Lompoc Library system.
