  • Car Rider LinesParents, for your convenience, the car rider line opens on the back porch at 6:30. You maydrop off your child(ren) on the back porch starting at 6:30, where students can wait in thecafeteria until 6:55. The food in the cafeteria is fantastic, so your child may enjoy thescrumptious breakfast that is served daily. All regular car lines open at 6:55, and a second carline opens at 7:10 by the gym. The car lines will end promptly at 7:28. Please take advantageof the early car lines to avoid any tardiness. Thank you for you assistance with this matter.

Please read the GSD Reading Fair Guidelines very carefully because there are MANY changesto the guidelines and categories this year. Bayou View Elementary has added a category to ourlocal fair called Group Projects. Group projects may include up to three Bayou ViewElementary School students. Since these "Group Projects" are not part of the Gulfport SchoolDistrict Fair, these projects will NOT advance to the District level competition. All First-Place projects (except the “Group Projects”) will proceed to the Gulfport SchoolDistrict Reading Fair, which will be held at Twenty-Eighth Street Elementary School on February9.

Reading fair guidelines may be viewed on our school website, or you may request a hard copyfrom the homeroom teacher. Please refer to the following steps to view the guidelines on ourHomepage: www.gulfportschools.org=> Select a School=> Bayou View Elementary School=>Scroll down to “Announcements” and click on GSD Reading Fair Guidelines 202-2021.
