CLASSES BEGIN
A Reflection on Today’s Gospel Jesus teaches that “no one can come to me unless it is granted by my Father.” Jesus explains these difficult beliefs by telling them that “the spirit…gives life, while the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” It is in the Spirit that we truly live, and if we believe only in the flesh, we will never understand or be able to believe what seems impossible. That takes faith, and faith is a gift from God.
Because they cannot grasp this, many leave him, and Jesus asks the Twelve, “Do you also want to leave?” But the faith of the closest followers is strong enough to hold on to what is impossible to understand literally. Peter answers for the Twelve, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”

Una Reflexión sobre del Evangelio de Hoy Jesús ensena que “nadie puede venir a mí a menos que mi Padre se lo permita”. Jesús explica estas creencias difíciles al decirles que “el espíritu...da de vida, mientras que la carne no sirve de nada. Las palabras que yo les he dicho son Espíritu y vida”. Es en el Espíritu que verdaderamente creemos, y si creemos solo en la carne, nunca entenderemos o podremos creer lo que
parece imposible. Eso requiere de fe, y la fe es un don de Dios.
Porque ellos no pueden entender esto, muchos lo dejan de seguir, por lo que Jesus les pregunta a los Doce: “¿ustedes también me van a dejar?” Pero la fe de los seguidores mas cercanos es suficientemente solida para mantenerse en lo que literalmente es imposible de entender. Pedro responde por los Doce: “Maestro, ¿A dónde iremos? Tu tienes palabras de vida eterna”.
