Katenge Tubular Construction was established to :

§ Be a major empowerment player in the structural, mechanical, electrical,instrumentation piping (SMEIP) field in Southern Africa.

§ Fully and productively utilize the fabrication and construction capacity,capability and resources of TTC together with RMPS’s, marketing andproject management skills.

§ Support Government’s 7 Pillars of BBBEE development.

§ Provide a “long term” growth mechanism to develop and nurtureengineering skills and create industry capacity through training anddevelopment.

§ Focus on the safe provision of fabrication and engineering construction inthe power generation, petrochemical and industrial fields.

§ Establish for the long term a commercially viable empowered businesstruly supportive of the communities in which it works and representativeof South African demographics.

RMPS (30%) is a Black Company with a track record of technical competence inthe Petrochemical, Energy and Industrial Sectors.

Skills include marketing, project management and technical support.

Tubular Technical Construction (70%) has 30 years experience in the steeldetailing, platework and structural steelwork fabrication and erection, electricaland instrumentation installation, mechanical erection and commissioning and thesupply, fabrication and assembly of pipework systems.

Tubular has its own workshops, transport, craneage and all ancillary equipmentto effectively control the complete construction process.

Katenge Tubular Construction is the product of the leadership commitment ofboth businesses to forge an organisation with capacity, capability and stature tobecome a major role player and serve selected markets in the engineeringconstruction sector.

The TTC Risk assessment format is divided into 3 parts namely: The Risk Assessment Record Sheet. The Method Statement & Hazard Identification Form used during the initial Risk Assessment process. Communication Register. Part one: Risk Assessment Title, date, risk assessment register ref number and revision The names of the Risk Assessment team. Signatures of approval Risk Matrix to be used to classify the risk. List of all activities. List of all identified hazards and Loss Exposure Risk Matrix classification for each hazard or potential hazard identified. The control measure to eliminate or control the hazard.- SWP will be compiled from here. The Shortcomings if the controls are not implemented or monitored. The person or persons responsible to ensure that the control measure is in place and is being carried out. Part Two: This part is used at the beginning of the Risk Assessment process. contain the Method Statement, which contains all the steps that will be taken to carry out the task at hand. It is then to list all the hazards or potential hazards that have been identified Part Three: The communication register which serves not only as proof that the risk assessment has been communicated but as a checklist ensure that the employees that are involved in the task have been briefed on all hazards & control measures.
