Opportunities & Special Events
Want a New Year’s challenge that will change your life? Read through the Bible in a Year programs are available to be picked up at the table in the foyer. There are four variations to choose from, feel to take one that best suits you. Be committed & inspired!
Reading the Bible Out loud We are wanting to promote & honor God’s Word by reading through it out loud. There is a podium and a Bible in the sanctuary to read from. Write down on a post-it note where you’ve stopped reading in order for the next
person to start where you’ve left off. Please see the signup sheets on the table in the foyer for days and times.
OFFERING ENVELOPES To those who use them or wish to start using them, offering envelopes are now available to pick up. They are out on the table in the foyer following the service today.
Please take one and fill out the form beside them with your name next to the envelope number.
Ladies Night Out The Ladies Night Out dinner will be this Thursday at 6:30pm at Goosepond Pizza in Linton. The signup sheet is on the table in the foyer, or contact Pam Jennings at 812-240-3042
so she can make reservations, or if you need a ride. If the weather is bad that day, she will call those signed up to cancel.
Music Reading Boot Camp On January 22nd at 6:45pm, Gayle will be holding a Music reading Boot Camp for singers or budding instrumentalists who want a little help finding their way around a piece of music. We will cover the basics of reading rhythm and melody, common musical symbols and navigating through a song. Adult choir rehearsals will resume January 29th following the Family Worship Service at 6:45pm.
Youth Group (Grades 6-12)! Join us tonight at 6:00pm. We'll be back in the Gospel Project study. Don't forget to join us on Tuesday nights at 6:30pm. Remember, Sunday school starts at 9:00am in the Upper Room and don't forget to invite a friend to all of our events. See you soon!

IronMen’s Breakfast On Saturday, January 14th at 8:00am, the men will be having an IronMen’s Breakfast in the Ministry Center. This is open to any guy and we encourage you to invite others to join in the fellowship. Chuck
Thompson will be doing a devotion as well.
Pastor Ben’s Sunday School Class Sunday mornings at 9:00am, Pastor Ben will be teaching a new Sunday School class. The 6 week study will be over “Fear of Man—Fear of God Rather than People”. If you are interested in participating in this study, you can still join! The class is in room 129.
Audio/Visual Ministry The Audio/Visual Team is looking for those who would be willing to help with the sound and the slides on Sunday mornings and/or evenings. If this is something you might be interested in and want to further explore into, please see Pastor Logan.
Children’s Church Volunteers We currently have openings for Children’s Church volunteers, specifically for the 3-Pre-K class and K-2nd grade class. If you can serve in one of those areas on a rotation, it would be greatly appreciated. Please see Pastor Logan

Shelburn Community Kitchen FREE Meals on Tuesday 5:30-6:30pm
On the menu this week: Mexican Dinner! If you are attending the Tuesday evening Bible studies, we invite you to come and eat before the studies!
With the larger crowd we are serving, we are more in need of desserts. Please have deserts here by 5:00pm. Thank you!

Family Worship Service Tonight at 6:00pm we will be having our Family Worship Service in the sanctuary, led by Pastor Ben. There will be a nursery for infants through Pre-K. Please come, and let’s worship together!
Women’s Bible Study
On Tuesdays at 6:30pm, the Women’s Bible Study is based on the book by Kelly Minter, “Nehemiah”. Discover what God has put in your heart to do through the study of His Word, and let God break your heart for the lost and hurting, because a breaking heart is often what God uses
to restore the broken. No book required for this study.
Men’s Bible Study On Tuesdays at 6:30pm, Chuck Thompson will be teaching through the Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life. You can still join in this study.
Adult Bible On Tuesdays at 6:30pm, Pastor Ben will continue his study from the book of Exodus. Anyone is welcome to join this study.

Mission Trip 2017 If you would be interested in serving on a mission trip to the Kairos Christian School in Guatemala and want to learn about the different opportunities to serve in that community, please see Misty Hunt. The trip dates are October
15-21, 2017. We will be starting the planning process at the first of the year, along with fundraising ideas.
Mountain Top Ministries Haiti Deb Williams, who works for MTM, has invited anyone who would be interested in going on a team to help paint the school and other buildings in the village
of Gramothe. Deb will be taking a team April 3-10, 2017. If you would like further information or to be put in touch with Deb about the trip, contact Misty Hunt in the church office.
