S- Fifth grade students will begin the lesson by watching a Basic Overview of Egyptian Hieroglyphics.

Students will be assigned an Egyptian Hieroglyph letter. They will illustrate that letter on a piece of white paper.

The teacher will call out simple words such as "cat" or "dog" and the students will (silently- your choice) spell the word in the front of the class correctly by holding their letter up.

Students will design their own hieroglyph poster on PowerPoint to color and illustrate to be posted around the room.

Students will accomplish these tasks by the end of the day with 100% accuracy.

1- YouTube video

2. White paper

3. Crayons/Markers/Colored Pencils

4. Smart Board

5. PowerPoint Poster

U -Students will use the Video as an introduction that include information about hieroglyphics.

Students will also have to draw their symbol that represents a letter.

R- Students will create their own symbol and present to the class.

E- Evaluation will occur during the projects provided.
