Station 1 – Disco and TV• Just to Review, we have
looked at two different elements of Disco that have utilized the television as a means successful development.– Isaac Hayes and his writing
for the Tv Program and Movie: ‘Shaft’
– Additionally, The Bee Gee’s and their work with ‘Saturday Night Fever’

• As the 1970’s developed, a number of different television programs began using disco music in their theme songs:– Dallas– The Donahue Show– 20/20– The Love Boat

Disco into the 1980’s• Disco continued to be a
popular musical genre in the early 1980’s
• However, there were a few musical differences in comparison to the music seen in the early 70’s– Songs became more simple– Much of the complicated
orchestration and layered vocals were cut out and simplified
