Larry Williams of Old Street Tools in Eureka Springs, AR will also have a booth. The Woodworkers Association will have a display and information booth as well. This event will serve as the April meeting. Plan to bring your work to display. Members will staff the booth to provide information on our organization and greet attendees. The hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday. WOODWORKING 101 Pat Morris will demonstrate how to joint the edges of two boards so they can be glued together. BOXES Boxes are a starting point for many woodworkers. Jewelry or just a box. They all have four sides a top and bottom. Design and construction methods will be discussed.

Lie-Nielsen Hand Tool Event — April Program

Lie-Nielsen Hand Tool Event will be in Little Rock April 1 and 2, 2016 at the University Plaza Suite 300 at UALR. Larry Williams of Old Street Tools in Eureka Springs, AR will also have a booth.

- Ken Royal demonstrated the difference between a crosscut and rip saw.- Pat Morris showed how to use a bench hook and a shooting board and hand plane.- Karen Mack explained how to cut large and small pieces of wood with a circular saw and a straight-line cutting panel.- Lee Villa demonstrated how to use the same panel designed for a router. With the panel and straight bit you can joint the edge of boards for glue-ups. - Rob Middleton explained the many uses of drills.

Show and Tell

Hal Merriman made 2 goblets and 3 vessels , all segmented turnings. He used jatoba,, sapele, blood wood, rose-wood, maple and walnut. Finished with shellac, walnut oil and wax.

Bob Revel used his new scrollsaw to make this wall hanging grand-father clock for his wife. He used Peruvian walnut . The finish is 3 coats of wipe-on Arm-R-Seal. It is Wildwood Design #1301.

Earl Magnuson was a lifelong woodworker and WAA member. Earl’s last project was this cherry spice cabinet. Angie Heifner brought it in to show us.

Shawna and Leo Raduske made these Wooden Build-ing Block Dolls out of beech and maple. The legs and arms are moveable. They finished them with a high gloss poly.

This is a small dust collection system for the woodworking beginner or the more experienced one. This system can be hooked up to smaller machines or just used to vacuum dust off your work piece, work surface or tools. This one is the Oneida Dust Deputy.
