The Kitchen cabinet: Meirav heiman and shahar Marcus
This exhibition by Meirav Heiman and Shahar Marcus combines video works, stills, and prints. The works, created in different mediums, all deal with food, whether as a personal or family matter, in Heiman’s works, or a social-political one, in Marcus’s. They combine humor and social criticism on conventions such as family, political leadership, sports, and the concept of the orchard in Eretz-Israeli identity. The mix of the domestic and the intimate with the social and the political allows the artists to examine these conventions, to recreate them, and even to challenge them.Tuesday, May 16, 201719:00–19:30 Opening of the ExhibitionDwek Gallery19:30–20:30 Food and Culinary Arts in Video Art: artists Meirav Heiman and Shahar Marcus will talk about their art and present new works on the subject.
