Tui Na is an ancient Chinese healing art in which the hands are used to press on key points on the surface of the body to promote the body’s own natural healing process. When these points are stimulated, they release tension and increase the body’s circulation of blood and nutrients. Tui Na and acupuncture are closely related: they are both based in traditional Chinese medicine, share a common approach to diagnosis, and use the same meridians and points in applying treatment. The key difference is that Tui Na is a non- invasive therapy using the hands instead of needles. Mark Careless trained as a Tui Na practitioner under the tutelage of Erroll Lynch of Tui Na UK. Tui Na and acupuncture use the same meridians and points. Both are based in traditional Chinese medicine. However Tui Na is less invasive as it uses the hands rather than needles.

Tui Na massage offers psychological as well as physiological benefits. The feeling of increased wellbeing and euphoria speeds up the body’s ability to heal itself.

Tui Na can be used to treat a wide range of problems:neck pain and stress, headache, migraine, diabetes, low energy, back pain, sciatica, rheumatism, arthritis, joint pain, sports injuries.

Most Tui Na treatments last from 30mins to 60mins. A protective sheet is placed over the fully clothed patient.

Tui Na therapy is a firm massage treatment using hands and elbows to break down scar tissue and speed up the healing process and increasing the blood flow to a damaged area.
