Tumbler
“ We are creating simpler, calmer, and softer things.” —Sam Hecht
Softening the Urban Environment
Tumbler designers Sam Hecht and Kim Colin of London-based Industrial Facility
challenged the notion that outdoor urban lights have to be harsh and rugged, designed
only to be utilitarian objects. While providing the functionality necessary for outdoor
lighting, Tumbler’s silhouette tilts gently, a friendly nod to the space it lights and a
humane response to the life that is the city.
Tumbler’s form takes a cue from the domestic lampshade, introducing an indoor
element to outdoor urban spaces. Though casual in attitude, Tumbler’s area, wall-
mounted, and catenary luminaires are meticulously designed, from the technologically
advanced LED arrays to the concealed bolts and connection points that create a clean,
refined appearance.
High Performance and a Robust Offering
Luminaires with 18, 36, and CoB LED arrays have two power outputs and several
symmetric and asymmetric distribution types for multiple applications. Tumbler area
lights offer single, double, and multiple luminaires mounted to 3.4m-, 4.2m-, 5.0m-,
and 6.6m-high poles.
“ Tumbler’s posture tilts toward the space it is lighting, creating an impression that the lamp is working for you and working for the city.” —Sam Hecht
