Dr. Kayadibi memperoleh gelar sarjana dari Al-Azhar University, Mesir sebelum melanjutkan pendidikan pasca-sarjananya di Inggris dan Jordania. Profesor
ilmu ekonomi, termasuk ekonomi Islam ini, memperoleh gelar MPhil dan Ph.D
dari Durham University di Inggris dan MA dari Universitas Jordania. Selain mengajar, Dr. Kayadibi adalah peneliti dan penulis produktif yang telah
menghasilkan puluhan buku, artikel jurnal, dan publikasi lainnya. Salah satu bukunya adalah “Ottomans Connections to the Malay World: Islam, Law,
and Society” (2011) yang juga melihat hubungan Ottoman dan Aceh.
Dalam kuliah tamu kali ini, Prof. Kayadibi akan melihat berbagai tantangan dan kesempatan dalam hubungan antara Aceh dan Turki. Selain itu, beliau juga
akan memperkenalkan buku terbitan 2011 di atas.
ICAIOS (International Center for Aceh and Indian Ocean Studies) adalah sebuah pusat antar universitas internasional yang didirikan oleh universitas-universitas di Aceh, Pemda Aceh, Kementrian Ristek Indonesia, universitas/lembaga dan akademisi internasional pada tahun 2008. ICAIOS menyelenggarakan pelatihan riset dan riset tematik yang dianggap strategis untuk Aceh dan masyarakatnya.

The International Centre for Aceh and Indian Ocean Studies (ICAIOS) is a joint effort
between three universities in Aceh (Syiah Kuala University, IAIN At-Ranity, and University
of Malikussaleh), the Government of Aceh, and a number of internaionalacademic
institutions. The ICAIOS office is located within the PPISB building of the Syiah Kuala
University campus in Banda Aceh. ICAIOS offers research methodology and thematic
research training for local scholars, as well as pre-departure training for Acehnese students
going to study abroad. It also enhances research capacity by facilitating international
cooperation of academic community in Aceh and Indonesia.
One of our activities is a regular round-table discussion with expert from fields of significant
importance to Aceh and the Indian Ocean regions. In this regatd we would like to invite
you to glve a talk on "Tutk-Aceh Connections: Challenges and Opportunities" at
ICAIOS on Tuesday,January 31,2072.IWe would also like to invite you to introduce your
newly published book "Ottoman Coonection to the Malay Vorld: Islam, Law, and
Society" to our academic audience in Banda Aceh. This event will be held at ICAIOS
confetence room in Darussalam Campus, Banda Aceh.
