1.EZEKIEL 38 CONFIRMSTURKEY'S LEADERSHIP ROLEFrom the prophecies examined in the Book of Ezekiel, we saw that Turkey was significantlyemphasized. Of the eight locations tha t were specified in the Cog Prophecy of Ezekiel 38,five were located firmly with in Turkey. Magog, Meshech, Tubal, Togormah, and Gomerare all areas tha t were with in the boundaries of modern Turkey. The fact th at Turkey wasso heavily emphasized is not something t o be ignored. God highlighted Turkey for a reason.However, it is im po rtan t tha t this theory be confirmed by o the r passages, as well.

3. DANIEL 9 CONFIRMSTURKEY'S LEADERSHIP ROLEWe also examined Daniel 9, where the Bible says that it would be th e "people of the princeto come" tha t would destroy the Jewish Temple. In oth er words, the ethnic peoples ofwhom the futu re Antichrist would be the leader wrould destroy the Jewish Temple. We sawthat th e primary group tha t carried out this destruction was the tenth legion of th e Romanarm y (Legion X Fretensis), which was stationed in Antioch. Antioch was also the area fromwhich the t en th legion drew most of its recruits. These soldiers were primarily Syriansan d Arabs. Today, Antioch is located within t he borders of Turkey, on the southeasterncorner of Turkey near Syria. As such, this is yet another witness to the n otion th at th eAntichrist would come fr om the region of modern Turkey.

DANIEL 11CONFIRMSTURKEY'SLEADERSHIP ROLEOur fou rth confirmation was foun d in Daniel 11,where we saw that t he Antichrist wasprefigured by Antiochus IV Epiphanies, the "King of t he North" o r the ruler of the SeleucidDivision of th e Greek Empire. We may expect to see the Antichrist emerge somewherefrom within the region of th e former Seleucid Empire. The Seleucid Empire covered a largeportion of mo dern Turkey.

ISAIAH A N D MICAHCONFIRM AN ASSYRIAN ROLLWe also studied the great emphasis that the prophets Isaiah and Micah placed on thef u t u r econflict between the Messiah and the Assyrian, who was a type of Antichrist. Theseprophecies also point us to the regions of the former Assyrian Empire, which engulfed alarge portion of modern Turkey.

6. ZECHARIAH CONFIRMSTURKEY'S LEADERSHIP ROLEZechariah 9 clearly lists Yavan/Ionia (T~~rkey)s the primary player in the Last-Days attackagainst Israel. Many will have missed this prophecy due to a commonly used yet misleadingtranslation: "I will rouse your sons, 0 Zion, against your sons,0Greece (Yavan, Ionia)."The key aspect of this passage is the reference to the sons of a place called Zion (Jews)fighting against the so ns of a place called Yavan (Turks). Yavan was a descendant of Noahwho came to live on the western coast of Asia Minor, or modern day Turkey, in the area thatcame to be known as Ionia. See also Joel 3:6. Zechariah 9 is clearly speaking in terms thatonly can be applicable to the Last-Days, an d the re turn of Jesus the Messiah "Jehovah willappear over them." After this time, the Messiah will rule Israel and her land will be fargreater th an it is today:

To many, this may be a strange question: Was there a n actual literal geographic loca-tion where Satan had "a throne"? In a certa in sense , yes. Th e verse is referring to a massivestructure th at sat atop a high hilltop in Pergamum. T he Greeks originally built this giganticstructure in the 2n d century B.C. as a temple dedicated to Zeus. This in itself is interesting.Certain continuity exists between th e various gods of b east empires. For instance, inancient Egypt they worshipped Ra, the Sun god. In Babylon, there was Murdock, th e Sungod a nd Sin, the Moon god (or goddess). The Greeks worshipped many gods, bu t viewedZeus-the god of th e sky an d thunder-as the king over all of th e other astral deities.Later, the Rom ans also worshipped Zeus und er t he name Jupiter. There is significant evi-dence to view the Allah of the Muslims a s the Arab c ounte rpart to Baal, Sin, Zeus, orJupiter. In pre-Islamic times, Allah-worship, as well as the worship of Baal, were both astralreligions in th e sense that they involved the worship of the su n, the moo n, a nd the stars.1

But notice that Jesus did n ot refer to the Pergam um Altar as the thron e of Zeus, bu trather as the th rone of Satan. We can assume tha t Jesus made th is point for a reason. Whilethe various Beast Empires worshipped an a ssortmen t of gods und er different nam es, Jesusactually referred to Zeus-the chief god of the ruling beast empire-as Satan. Zeus wasSatan dressed in a Greek toga. This point is crucial as we attem pt to underst and th e natureof t he work of Satan in t he earth in th e Last-Days. We have already identified th e re-emerg ing Islamic Empire as the final Beast Empire. We may also now identify Allah asSatan. This time, however, Satan is masquerading as the Go d of the Bible.

Not only does Jesus equate Zeus (or Jupiter) with Satan , bu t he also states that Satan's"throne", or spir itua l base, was geographically located in Turkey. As unusual as this maysou nd , Satan may actually establish a geographical strong hold o r a spiritual capital of

As late as the 19th century, this throne remained in Turkey,also the location of the capital of the Ot tom an Empire. Beyond this, Pergamum was rela-tively close to Ionia (roughly one hundred miles north ). All factors considered, this passage,by naming Turkey as the location of Satan's throne , also confirms Turkey's significant rolein t he Last-Days Antichrist Empire.SATAN'S NEW HOME?In two campaigns, starti ng in 1879, Satan's thr one, o r the Pergamum Altar, as it is nowcalled, was excavated by a German archeological team. The altar was shipped ou t of theOttom an Empire from th e original location an d was reconstructed in the PergamonMuseum in Berlin in the 19t h century. Today, the altar still sits in Berlin where it can beseen alongside other mon ume ntal structures such as the Ishtar Gate from Babylon.

In 1934, Adolph Hitler became the dictator of Germany. Hitler ordered constructionof the Tribune at Zeppelin Field in Nuremberg specifically for th e purpose of his Nazi ral-lies. Several volumes have been wr itten detailing the deeply occultist nature of the Naziregime. Not surprisingly, then the Nazi architect of the Zeppelintribune,Albert Speer, actu-ally used the Pergamum Altar as the model for what essentially became the prem ier Nazipulpit. The Fuhrer's podium was located in the middle of the replica of t he PergamumAltar. In light of Hitler's brazen anti-Semitic spirit, and the h orro rs of th e holocaust t ha taccompanied his career, one can only conclude that Hitler did indeed conjure up a measureof tha t Satanic spirit that was present in Pergamum.SATAN IS COMING HOME TO TURKEYW hat is also interesting about all of this is that in March of 2006, the nation of Turkey,after failing to convince Germany to retu rn the Altar decided t o rebuild a perfectreplica of the ancient Altar on the sam e ancient hill in Bergama, the location of ancientPergamum. In March 2006, Turkish Culture an d Tourism Minister Atilla Koc sta ted that ,"There is no chance of having the a ltar returned from Germany , because we have no legalright. But now we have a new project. The exact copies (replicas) of those historical a rti-facts will be built on the original sites."2

This certainly makes on e wonder if the sa me dark anti-Semitic spirit that seems tohave followed this ancien t Satanic altar t o Germany, will now also find a welcome hom ein Turkey. In fact, there are many reasons to believe tha t this is already the case.Let's examine the modern Nation of Turkey to see if she matches several other impor-tant political a nd military requirements to qualify as the leader of the Antichrist coalition.

QUALIFICATIONS TO BE ANTICHRIST

The first requirement th e head nation of the Antichrist Empire mus t fulfill is the polit-ical capital to fill the role of mediato r arid gu aranto r of a comp rehensive peace treatybetween Israel and th e surrounding ilations that represent a th reat t o her: "He will confirma covenant with many for one 'seven"' (Daniel 9:26).In order t o mediate such a covenant or treaty, this nation n eeds to have the reputation

The Bible saysth at Israel will rely o n this nation a nd will feel secure throu gh the promises an d ter msestablished in the peace treaty. The Bible says tha t a fter Christ returns, "In that day therem na nt of Israel, the survivors of the house of Jacob, will no longer rely on h im wh ostruck the m down b ut will truly rely on Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel" (Isaiah 10:20). Weknow tha t Israel will trust the Antichrist because the Bible says the following about him:"On th at day tho ugh ts will come into your min d a nd you will devise an evil scheme. Youwill say, "I will invade a land of unwalled villages; 1will attack a peaceful an d unsuspectingpeople-all of them living without walls an d without gates an d bars . 1will plunder a nd lootand t urn my han d against the resettled ruins an d the people gathered from the nations, richin livestock and goods, living at the cente r of t he land" (Ezekiel 38:lO-13).

Anot her sign we sholild look for is latent o r overt trend s toward radical Islamism.Although we know tha t the Antichrist will initially appear t o be moderate and trustworthy,he will also eventually show his t rue colors. And his success will come through deceit andshrewdness: "A stern -faced king, a ma ster of i ntri gue , will arise. He will becom e verystrong, bu t no t by his own power. Ile will cause astounding devastation a nd will succeedin whatever he does. He will destroy the mighty men an d the holy people. He will causedeceit to prosper, an d he will consider himself superio r. When they feel secure, he willdestroy many a nd take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, butnot by hu ma n power" (Daniel 8:23-25).Now let's compare all of th e Scriptural requirements listed above to the modern nationof Turkey.
